So, avoid paying your taxes to buy League One and overspend in a failed attempt to stay in the Championship. Sod paying your dues and getting money to people who need it instead. I presume the cost of living crisis won't cast a shadow across their consciences.

Just for a change, Mike Danson looks like the real deal. Whether Wigan deserve him is another matter, but, on the face of it, it looks like the best result that any Wigan fan could hope for.

On -8 points it is a big ask for them to go back up again this year, but we will have to see how much the UK's 128th richest billionairre is willing to invest in the journey.


Yes, in fairness seems a decent guy who understands technology and business funding. Born and bred in Wigan and intends giving something back. He already has has a £10 million foundation which help educate those from poorer backgrounds. Must be one of the luckiest EFL clubs that have ever existed. Still hope they go down (they won’t) due to their past breaches and cheating.
