Looks like it's going to be between him and Masterson - currently on 6.

Unless a miracle happens on Saturday it's going to be more than three full seasons since a Gills player has scored two in a league game.

Careful, you don't want to be labelled a "doom and gloom" merchant pointing out stats like that, or that we could be lowest divisional scorers for the third season running, or that should Donny win on Saturday we'll have lost the same number of games as we did last season but with players allegedly of a far higher calibre, or that if we do lose there's a reasonable chance we'll also finish bottom of the form table with six defeats from the last seven games...

The last Gills player to score 2 goals in a league game was Vadaine Oliver at Swindon in the 3-1 win on 13th March 2021!

Big V was also the last to do it at Priestfield - in the 3-1 win vs Ipswich the week before.

Masterson a bit unlucky not to be given the 2nd goal yesterday which would have put him up to 7 goals tied with Mahoney.
His header flicked the underside of the bar and dropped down but I think the defender on the line did get the final touch for an OG.
 
On a positive note:

Our second highest league goalscorer (Conor Masterson) this season scored more than the second highest last season (4 players with 3) and the season before (Danny Lloyd 5).
