Diamond will probably get much of the votes on this but I'm going for Sean Roughan who is developing into a really good player. Mendez-Laing was a real test for him tonight and he stood up exceptionally well throughout. First choice left back now I'd suggest

Diamond for me as he gave their RB a torrid time, but everyone contributed and battled very well. Special mention to the crowd too who were excellent all evening.

Completely agree with this!

Roughan for me, from Diamond. Sean’s best performance in a City shirt. Outstanding defending with well timed tackles, good positioning and excellent decision making. He should keep that shirt. Special mention to Rushworth who is some keeper at this level.

Diamond won and converted the penalty, set up the 2nd, terrorised the Derby defence all night and topped it all of with a fair shift defensively and off the ball. Still a work in progress with pace, strength and skill but occasional shaky moments typified in the second half by a poor first touch, a battle won for the second and third to tenth which left defenders floundering.

Roughan showed his improvement and maturity against a good winger compared with Hamilton two seasons ago when MA basically lost faith.

House isn't Hopper (who else is?) but reduced Derby's wooden defence to splinters with his pressing and deserved his goal.

Diamond

Great game for him workhorse along with House tonight, Should have selfishly made it 3-0 rather than squaring it.

Roughan also though played exceptionally well, I know with his trials at Chelsea and Southampton previously, but it wouldn’t surprise me if he is the next one to depart as part of the model.

Diamond gets my vote, as he was involved in most of the dangerous attacking play as well as working hard to get back and support the defence when needed. Roughan and Sorensen both put in hard working shifts and Rushworth kept us in the game with several good saves. An all round decent team effort.

Diamond for his match-winning performance, but Roughan played ML superbly and is really starting to show his development. Could be our latest transfer in the young development player mould (at the end of the season please).

Though one but for good reasons this time.
Diamond winning and converting a pen and having a part in the second goal must be an obvious choice but as many mentioned Roughan was exceptional for most of the night too.
The latter is our own young player and that's why my MOTM goes to him.
Roughan .

I think we played better as a team, and also showed how much fitter the players
seem to be to keep on pressing the Derby defence giving them no time to settle on the ball ( And May I add how much panic it caused the Derby defence)
I was trying to keep my eye on Virtue to see how he was playing in midfield, but kept getting distracted with all that was happening,
