Took a trip to see Whitehawk v Chatham on Tuesday night. Plenty of Gills connections in the Chats line up with Matt Bodkins and Jack Evans being in the Chats starting line up and Dean Beckwith being an unused sub.
My main interested was seeing Ike Orji play, our recent signing from Chatham. For those expecting him to be ready for the first XI next season, I think you are going to be disappointed. Although he looked composed and showed nice touches, he certainly could have done better for the build up to the only goal in the game. He played with an injury for much of the second half and I was surprised he played as much as he did, bearing in mind he is now on loan to Chatham, rather than their player.
I was impressed by the away turn out for the game, 34 hardy souls ventured down to Brighton for the game
