The finishing didn't improve much but that didn't seem to be a problem!

Seems unlikely considering he'd been a player for about as long as Chapman and had just retired. Having said that, he was called on to play a few more games due to other players being injured, so perhaps 'learning to finish better' could mean learning to finish playing better?

But neither individual is part of the required answer.

Fair enough - thought Loxley may have played a game or two with/under Chapman and it was a bit of a tongue in cheek comment - sufficient to fool us! Certainly fooled me!!

Although never a really prolific striker his career record shows Bert Loxley to have been right about him.
