When you look at the guys who founded the SAS and its early core members like Paddy Main and Jock Lewes, they were all really really mad, reckless hard bastards. Driving through deserts in jeeps at night, lights off, raiding, causing mayhem, blowing up fuel and planes all under enemy fire, and then escaping back where they came from. Thank God, that we Anglo Saxons and Celts are good at producing these people. You could never imagine the French or Italians doing it.
