Scotimp's Views (From Season Preview):

Despite the incredible gesture from former owner Thea Bristow to gift control of the club to its new owners, United will be operating in much reduced circumstances this season. Immediate cuts led to the closure of the club's academy and the departure of manager Chris Hargreaves, replaced by former Mansfield boss Paul Cox. Exodus Geohaghon, signing for his 20th club, wants to make Plainmoor 'disgusting' for visiting teams this season, whilst Dan Butler sees no reason why Torquay cannot win the league this year. Try looking at that squad, Dan. The departure of top scorer Bowman to Gateshead can only hurt them. Manager Cox has won this league before, but he will not have the money to splash that he had at Mansfield. Could be a very long season ahead for the Gulls.

Prediction: Relegation battle at worst.

Scotimp's Views (From Season Preview):

One of the unknown quantities in the league this season, a large turnover of staff under the inexperienced management of former player Moyses could produce an interesting opening few months for the Imps. Fund-raising activities of various kinds have raised over £200,000 during the close season, improving both the club's financial standing and the playing budget. The new defence looks very solid with a better quality of player in midfield; with the departure of Tomlinson and Burrow, the question will be whether or not the side has enough goals in it. The difference could be the fitness of long-term injury victim Liam Hearn: a fit Hearn could secure a play-off spot.

Prediction: Top half for the first time since relegation in 2011.
