Let's get the negatives out of the way.
Missed chances, it just isn't falling to us at the crucial times and it's a replay we could do without.
Paine - subbed after strolling back as they went past us, never seems to play a forward pass.
Our finishing must improve if we are going to push for promotion.
Positives - much, much better than last Monday. A solid performance which should have seen us through to the next round.
Defensively they didn't get a sniff first half. Let's remember this is a team currently 4 pts off the Championship playoffs and in 8th place. We were for long periods of the game the better team.
Aimson - MOTM by a country mile. Made several fantastic tackles and can play a ball out of defence nicely. Defence looked fairly solid against Winnall and Hourihane and Hamill just didn't get anything. Best moment for him was getting subbed he literally ripped his shirt off pushing their subs and manager/ coaches aside as he got subbed. He still flatters to deceive.
Potts had a decent game and ran himself in to the ground.
Bowyer played a 5-2-1-2 and made the right substitutions at the right time.
Walking back to the car a Barnsley fan started talking to us and said we were the best side they've played this season. Said no-one has harried them and restricted them like we have and praised the sheer work effort of the team. Also said it's criminal what has happened to us.
Interesting to see what their fans say on their boards later.
