This is a 1 year extension apparently.

Interesting that it then says they will sit down again with him in the summer to extend even further... why? Why not just get it done now and tie him up till 2029 at least?

There were definitely rumours of it being a 4 and a half year deal when he signed, but nothing confirmed.

The Sun today are claiming it's a 1 year extension but have also mentioned it was 4 and a half years when he arrived.....so either they have completely got their figures wrong or he's actually extended to 2028?? or the length of contract has remained exactly the same but they've bettered his terms?

Clear as mud.

The original Percy article when he joined on a 4.5 year deal. The only thing I can think is the final year was an option hence today's announcement.
