The Squad for this season

Links are being made with Valentin Rongier of FC Nantes.

By all accounts he is admired by Smith and is often used in a deep lying playmaker role. The suggestion of utilising him with McGinn, as the engine room behind Grealish carries some logic, on paper at least. However, I have not viewed any footage of the Frenchman, so I am only reflecting what I have read.

Not what I meant , he does come to life when play stops and he can get hold of the ball,.
He's not ball player is what i mean and he's not a defensive midfielder in a million years .
He's a deadball specialist who runs about a lot

All these players linked are apparently admired by Deano. Could well be his agent touting him to the PL to generate some interest
 
The squad for this season will be better than last season. We will bring in what is needed and this time next year we'll be in the Premier league and the shit will be playing Coventry.

Not sure when they come back for training.Early to mid July ? That leaves us with 2 or 3 weeks to get everyone in so they can start training together and get to know each other.I`ve got to admit I`m becoming slightly nervous at the lack of signings.
If you`re adding one or two players to an already settled squad,then early signings aren`t as important,but we are rebuilding the whole squad.Currently we have Chester and Hause as our central defenders and that`s not going to be good enough in this league.

Thought he was excellent in the play-offs, the best I've seen him. The DS effect is taking hold.
 
Hourihane will be a useful player to have in the squad but I just can't see him as being a regular starter. Grealish yes, Mcginn probably but I think we need at least 2 defensive minded midfielders.
 
I'm not too worried currently. I still think Mings will sign and there's currently international tournaments going on in Africa, south America, North America and everyone else is on holiday. We've signed more than anyone else in the premier league so far, though obviously 2 of those were bringing back players we had last season.

Still think we need a keeper, 2 centre backs, a left back, 2 midfielders, 1 winger and 1 striker. Add to that we still need to move plenty on. This is the calm before the storm I think.
 
I think it's time for us to look at the probable team for this upcoming season.

I know it will be fluid as when / if players are signed.
