In the aftermath of the Burnley collapse we reflect on having probably one of the worst defences in the Championship.
It doesn’t help by the coach having favourites and picking round pegs for square holes, centre-back Latibeaudiere playing right wing-back, right wing-back Sorinola playing left wing-back, both got exposed badly. Four changes to a winning team after a week’s break, right-back Naughton after a run of poor displays returning at centre-back instead of Darling, left centre-back Cabango (right-footed and preferred position right centre-back) exposed by Sorinola’s weak defending, right centre-back Wood exposed by Latibeaudiere’s weak defending. Coupled with another lethargic display by Grimes and some of the other players lack of effort it was a recipe for disaster.
How we can recover for Tuesday night’s match at home to Reading will tell us a lot about the character of this team.
Reading were denied a chance to go top by losing 0-2 at home to manager-less West Brom last Saturday and will be looking to bounce back against us with Swans bogey-man Andy Carroll (yes he’s back) leading the line for them.

The team:
Harry Darling, Luke Cundle and Ollie Cooper in.
Kyle Naughton, Olivier Ntcham benched, Joel Piroe suspended.

Swans: Steven Benda, Nathan Wood (Okie-Flex 45’, Stevens 87’), Harry Darling, Ben Cabango, Joel Latibeaudiere, Jay Fulton, Matt Grimes, Matty Sorinola, Luke Cundle (Naughton 81’), Ollie Cooper (Ntcham 93’), Michael Obafemi (Cullen 93’)

Subs: Andy Fisher, Olivier Ntcham, Liam Cullen, Armstrong Oko-Flex, Fin Stevens, Kyle Naughton, Josh Thomas.

A win looked unlikely after half an hour with us 0-2 down against the run of play with defensive mistakes from Latibeaudiere and Darling for the goals conceded.
But Darling made amends from a corner with a brilliant looping header to make it 1-2 at half-time and we were right back in it.
Second half and goals from Cooper and a long-ranger from Fulton secured the win, what a comeback!
Sets us up nicely for next Sunday mid-day where we take on local rivals Cardiff at the .com with confidence restored.
