don't remember this kind of contract situation happening to any of our other drogheda loanees?
i suppose it adds an extra incentive - performing to justify an extension. flip side, it also adds a bit of extra pressure/distraction.

hope he does well.
 
Agree swapping Paudie for Mitchell makes sense. However I have a feeling that MS wants more pace in one of the centre back roles, something until Montsma is back we don’t have at present.

I have never more wanted a player to recuperate and make it back than Lewis Montsma on a personal level first and foremost, independent of his playing abilities.

However, his return is dependant on several factors and it is a massive ask, not least for Lewis.

If you read the medical advice about returning to football following one ACL let alone three, the physical and psychological barriers are massive with no guarantee of being able to play to the same level for those reasons.

It will require the Imps to offer a contract and for Lewis to feel he can personally overcome those challenges for it to happen.

If we’re going to play 4 at the back longer term then I think we have too many central defenders.
 
But if you take Montsma out, take into account that Eyoma covers RB and Roughan LB, then Brown potentially leaving, then it doesn't take a lot to be short in defence.
