Really hope this guy signs could be a coup for us

The Alan Stubbs factor could help Rotherham United land a player they first wanted to sign a year ago. Former Hibernian playmaker Scott Allan is open to a season-long loan with the Millers so he can work again under Stubbs who was his manager at Easter Road

Twelve months ago, he refused to entertain a move south of the border when then-Rotherham boss Steve Evans wanted him, choosing to join Scottish giants Celtic for an undisclosed fee. His switch to Celtic Park hasn’t worked out and the 24-year-old would be happy to be reunited with Stubbs, who took the Millers hot-seat in June and yesterday made ex-Celtic and Nottingham Forest centre-half Kelvin Wilson his fifth new recruit of the summer. Allan made only two starts for Celtic last season but played in 33 Scottish Championship matches for Stubbs, and sources in Scotland speak of a cultured, intelligent midfielder who makes things happen. He could be in Rotherham today to tie up a deal.
