With a big crowd expected sat ,maybe the biggest of the season ,what's the highest gate we've played in ,in the lowest div , think 17000 away at hull in Keith's days the highest I remember , Huddersfield in the playoffs if we count it

Depends on what you call the lowest division: the Second Division, Div3North or Division 4 and its derivatives? They have all been the lowest division at times.

Div 4/Div3/League Two:
19,467 Huddersfield (A) 2003-04 (play-off semi-final)
17,453 Hull (A) 2003-04 (regular season)
16,887 Brighton (A) 1964-65
16,498 Scunthorpe (H) 1971-72

Second Division:
Probably the 35,000 at Spurs in 1919-20, but attendances were not officially recorded until 1925.

Div Three North: 12 City games attracted over 20,000 when Division Three North was the bottom division:
26,135 Stockport (A) 1936-37 (title decider)
25,586 Hull (A) 1946-47 (first league game after WWII and the first game at Boothferry Park)
21,742 Oldham (A) 1950-51
21,501 Stockport (H) 1951-52
21,479 Grimsby (A) 1951-52
20,948 Oldham (A) 1951-52
20,923 Hull (A) 1947-48
20,792 Gateshead (A) 1937-38 (Gateshead's record attendance)
20,306 Doncaster (H) 1949-50
20,177 Rotherham (A) 1947-48 (penultimate game, effectively title decider)
20,092 Chesterfield (A) 1930-31 (title decider)
20,024 Hartlepools (H) 1947-48 (mathematical title decider)

What's the highest away attendance since 1951-52?

Wasn't there a crowd over 60,000 at Everton for the league game there in the early 50s?

Yes there was. 61000 at Everton I think in the early fifties still the highest attendance we have played in front of.

Didn't realise that Huddersfield attendance was that high , ,any ideas on the highest gate away from home in non league ?? At a wild guess I'd go away at Bristol rovers

Don't know for sure but in Lutons winning season the gate for our game at their place was according to wiki 6203.
Without trawling through loads that would be my punt

In fact you have bettered me. Quick check of Rovers in 2015 shows 6528 for our match there

But both beaten by the match at Cods over christmas 2015 which had 7650

The highest non league away total attendence was at Grimsby on 01/01/13.ie 7405. 6672 were there exactly a year earlier. Then there are the two aforementioned Luton games and in 5th place.... Boston on 26/12/87 with 5822 on our first spell in non league. Local derby's on Bank Holidays seem popular!
