He may not be familiar to us all, but NCFC Hall of Fame goal keeper Sandy Kennon 1959 - 64 has died aged 81.
I had the pleasure of meeting this lovely gentleman. For my 50th birthday a few years ago, Mr S bought me a meal in the Gunn Club and a behind the scenes tour of CR. Sandy was our host and he was excellent, a true fountain of knowledge on all things NCFC and football in general, with a sharp wit too.
After the match Mr S and I had our photo taken with him and Korey Smith (!!) holding a Delia 50th NCFC birthday cake (don't think she made it personally) It should've been Wes ( MOM), but that is a longer story for another time. The photo has stood on a bookcase in my living room ever since.
I expect NCFC to wear black armbands on Sat and hold a minutes silence/applause. I am pleased I will be there to salute him. RIP Sandy.
