Very sad - an excellent player. So of that 66 team we have now lost Banks, Wilson, Moore, Ball and Peters. As far as I am aware Cohen, Styles, J Charlton, Hunt, R Charlton and Hurst are still around.
Peters had already moved to Spurs when West Ham sent their first team down for Yeo's testimonial.
Peters did however play in a pre-season friendly at Priestfield for Norwich around 78 and in a complete contrast of styles went against teenage Steve Bruce, then a midfielder, in the League Cup in 79.
Apparently Martin Peters' last game as a pro was against us in 1981 when he was player coach at Sheffield Utd. We won 1-0, and after the game Harry Haslam was sacked, Peters was appointed manager and retired as a player.
