City travel to the Bernabeu on Wednesday 4 May, with kick-off scheduled for 20:00 (UK). City hold a 1 goal advantage from the home leg but against Madrid this is a very slender lead indeed and with Kyle Walker out of this game and possible the season we have an able replacement for him in the form of Joao Cancelo but the problem lies with the left back and with Nathan Ake being withdrawn early against Leeds the question is he fit enough to play or will we have to play Olex Zinchenko who is ok in that position but it is not his normal spot in his national side. Can we score goals or more importantly not concede against a very good attack in the Spanish team. We can do this!
In the City Match Day Centre (www.mancity.com) Trevor Sinclair and
Nedum Onuoha will be special guests on this weekend’s Matchday Live show, offering their thoughts before, during and after the action. The show gets under way from 18:45 (UK).

City Team News

Real Madrid defender David Alaba will not play a part in his side’s crunch Champions League semi-final second leg against Manchester City on Wednesday.

Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti ruled out the 29-year-old on Tuesday.

Alaba was withdrawn at half-time of last week’s first leg at the Etihad Stadium and did not feature in the 4-0 win over Espanyol on Saturday — the game which saw Madrid confirmed as La Liga champions.

Team news
Fit-again Kyle Walker returns to the starting line-up as Pep Guardiola makes four changes to the side that beat Leeds United on Saturday.
The right-back has missed City’s previous five games with an ankle injury sustained in the second leg of our Champions League quarter-final against Atletico Madrid last month, but comes back into the team alongside Kevin De Bruyne, Bernardo Silva and Riyad Mahrez.
They replace Nathan Ake, Ilkay Gundogan, Raheem Sterling and Jack Grealish, who all drop to the bench.
Joao Cancelo returns to European action after missing the first leg due to suspension.
XI: Ederson, Walker, Dias (C), Laporte, Cancelo, Rodrigo, De Bruyne, Bernardo, Mahrez, Jesus, Foden.
SUBS: Steffen, Carson, Ake, Sterling, Gundogan, Grealish, Zinchenko, Fernandinho, Egan-Riley, Palmer, McAtee, Lavia.

SUBS: Lunin, Fuidias, Alaba, Vallejo, Asensio, Marcelo, Jovic, Vazquez, Ceballos, Rodrygo, Mariano, Camavinga.

Onuoha: Good to have Walker back
Kyle Walker has provided Pep Guardiola with a huge boost this evening. He's one of the best one v one defenders in the world and Nedum Onuoha believes he could be invaluable against the pace of Vinicius.

"I think it’s huge [Walker returning]. When you think of the threat Vinicius had, if you could think of one player in the whole team that would be quite equipped to be able to deal with that, it’s Kyle Walker, so it's good to see him back to something like full health.

"It’s going to be a great challenge for him, but he is someone we rely on. We trust him because he is so, so good."

De Bruyne: Don't expect a tight game
“The buzz after the first game – I think you know afterwards when it’s been a good game and you’ve played well. Is it going to be as crazy as last week? Maybe not. But it’s not going to be a tight game because that’s not the way we play.
“There’s no point staying back and defending. That’s not our strong point. If we do that, we’re going to make more mistakes than we usually do, because we’re used to our system and our press. There’s no point doing anything else.”
