Good sides can win in different ways. Tonight wasn't always pretty, first half was too sloppy but really tightened up afterwards. The last 15 pure backs-to-the wall, but we've also eviscerated sides recently and have never been dull in that time.
Jensen 8 - I'll call it. Is there a better keeper in L1?
Sorensen 7 - battled (see also below)
Mitchell 7- battled
O'Connor 7 - battled - missed a good chance, timing just off; possibly lucky to avoid a foul and the inevitable yellow late, our one true stroke of ref luck.
Roughan 7 - had a hard time on the left but stuck to his task.
Erhahon 8 - battled and scrapped and fought and added a good dose of shithouse. Titan.
Mandroiu 8.5 - concerned he could have been more involved first half but good second half and scrapped with the rest of the side. Cool pen and my Motm.
House 8 - ShitHoused his way through the match and was in the right place to win the penalty.
Taylor 7.5 - before he ran out of gas, really cut loose 2nd half and kept Oxford's defence fully occupied.
Draper 7 - missed 2 good chances and did little else 1st half, 2nd half different gravy, one superb through ball for Taylor and showed signs of a real understanding developing.

Duffy 6.5 - thrown in unexpectedly early and struggled 1st half, better 2nd and unlucky with 2nd yellow for a robust tackle, a concept a poor ref didn't understand.

Makama and Burroughs helped see the game out, Jovon with some good game management beyond his years. MS has hopefully explained to Moylan that the on-off was down to game management and not a reflection on him.

Reeco looked on fire with that run and lets all hope the injury is not a serious one.

Taylor - 6.5

Jensen - 8 - superb
Sorensen - 6 - steady but nothing amazing last night
Mitchell - 7 a great defender, distribution lets him down
O’Connor - 7.5 solid
Roughan - 8 had extra busy night covering for Duffy
Duffy - 4.5 was really poor in the 1st better in the second, but I didn't think Oxford asked as many questions of him after the break. Unlucky with the 2nd yellow maybe but stupid to go off your feet when already booked
Erhahon - 8.5 he must be such a pain in the ass to play against, love him!
Mandriou - 6.5 cool for the goal, not overly impactful otherwise
House - 6.5 thought he was pretty anonymous, but great job winning the pen
Draper - 6 could have put us 2-0 up on another night, maybe confidence not that high?
Taylor - 6.5 another that is a constant pain to the opposition, always busy

Jensen 8 Superb and deserved his clean sheets

Sorensen 8 Did a great job defensively
Mitchell 8 As per usual with our centre backs,. they were terrific.
O'Connor 8 as above
Roughan 8 as above
Hackett will be badly missed the last two games.

Erhahon 8.5 Best player on the field - again.
Mandroiu 8 Best game I have seen from Danny this season. Some good passes, really good work rate.
House 8 Ben is a real asset to us in midfield and needs to stay in that position for the last two games.

Taylor 8 Ran and harried throughout withour getting any real chances.
Draper 7.5 Should have scored at least one, but goals will come for Freddie as he gets in great positions inside the box.

Duffy 5 Duffy looks totally bereft of confidence at the moment. Whereas when he first arrived he always turned forward with the ball and moved forward, now he just plays a safe ball backwards. And not always a safe ball either. His second booking was probaly a reflection of that lack of confidence. One for next season I think when I hope he can regain his early promise.

Overall an excellent team performance with no-one really below par

Jensen 8.5 - Back to his best: calm collecting, great saves and positioning. Another clean sheet that makes him top of the table.
Sorensen 7 - More defensive work than usual, gave it all.
Mitchell 7.5 - Tidy, doubled up on their tricky winger, solid at the back.
O Connor 7.5 - Tough as an old boot, lead by example, was worried about a second yellow.
Roughan 8 - Another good game, so much belief and confidence.
Duffy 6 - Looked an bit average compared to rest of team.
Erhahon 8.5 - Better than Saturday with the ball, what a warrior and a master of shithousery. Loved his attitude.
Mandroiu 8.5 - Another very good game, gets an extra half point for calmly taking the penalty and getting the winning goal.
House 7 - Thought he did well in his different role, got stuck in. Nice bit of comedy/time wasting when he through the ball away. 🙂
Draper 6.5 - Got into some great positions, battled but has to put the ball in the net. To an extent Mandy saved his blushes.
Taylor 7 - Worked hard, might have scored if ball had run for him, chased everything up front second half and caused them problems.

Tough day for Hackett. All subs came on and did the job asked of them.

Jensen 8
Made a couple of good saves and handling was exellent.

Sorensen 7
Fantastic ball in for Taylor in the penalty incident. Steady game.

Mitchell 7
It was his header back across that set Draper up with his headed chance. Good solid player and will get better.

O'Connor 7
Should of made the keeper work harder for his headed chance, it was a good well worked opportunity from a corner. Illegal, but well worked.

Roughan 7
Another solid game against another tricky opponent.

Duffy 5
Couple of very sloppy moments. Nearly put us in real trouble from a short back pass to Roughan.Thought his first booking was really petty from the ref. His second booking was debatable and looked worse than it was but probably should of not gone to ground but the ref didn't need much of an excuse to get another card out.

Erhahon 8.5
Makes our team tick. Never panics in possession. Of all the bookings there were last night I think he was the last one! Was at their players verbally all night but must of just tipped the ref over the edge just near the end.
Must admit I was on edge all game with him getting a card and then getting himself sent off because we would of really struggled without him.

Mandroiu 7.5
Couple of defence splitting passes. Had his best game for a while and put the penalty away well.

House 6.5
Did well without doing anything spectacular.
Good surging run which drew the foul for the penalty.

Draper 6.5
Had a couple of good opportunities to put us two up and has to do better with such clear cut chances...as he did at Reading. Played a brilliant ball out wide to Sorensen to cross in the penalty incident.

Taylor 7
Should of scored in the penalty incident. He just mis timed getting on the end of the cross and the ball sort of hit him on his heel. Worked hard throughout the game and had a couple of half chances but the clearcut chances weren't coming his way on the night.

Jensen - 8 - Another clean sheet after good game
Sorensen - 6 - Had some unusually though time with their wingers. Still managed to have a good game. Good pass for penalty.
Mitchell - 7 - Steady as always.
O'Connor - 7 - Should have done better with his chance but great defending again.
Roughan - 7 - Another good performance. I think he will be playing wing back at Cheltenham?
Erhahon - 8 - Good as always. Another yellow. Asking for trouble sometimes
Mandroiu - 7 - Creative and looked well after the ball.
House - 6. Typical House performance. Good job for pen as well.
Taylor - 7- Lively and tricky to play against.
Draper - 5 - Should have scored. Average / decent game.

Duffy - 5 - Stupid sending off you have to say
