Another away win, the sixth in a row in the league, and the club records are starting to tumble under Michael Appleton. Two record-breaking managers in a row is quite something. We are probably safe from relegation now, given the current points totals at the foot of the division, so we should raise a glass to the players for that alone. When we consider that we are only just past the halfway point in the season, we should raise a second glass to them, and a thrid, an a forth grass, an a sxth...

6.0 is the par score, use half-marks and tell us how much you like stuffing a Steve Evans team too.

Deadline is 5pm on Monday.

Johnson 7.5 His pace is frightening showed glimpses of his class
Rogers 7.5 superb footwork to create the 3rd goal for Hopper looks real class.
Hopper 8 Lead the line really well pleased he got his goal

Palmer 8 - Just what we needed against Gills. Solid as and unfussy
Eyoma 6 - Played when ill, didn't let anyone down during 1st half battle
Jackson 8 - Un-wilting
Walsh 8.5 - Un-wilting and majestic at times
Edun 7 - This what we want from him, genuine consistency and quality now
Bridcutt 7 - Much better second half, no coincidence the team did also
Grant 7.5 - Battled ferociously to have his quality win out
McGrandles 8 - All round contribution, Again!
Johnson 7 - Constant threat if a little inconsistent with his outcome and choices

Having discovered that TJ played tonight despite being unwell, I may decide to waive his ratings for this evening. Any objections, let me know.

Palmer 8 Superb handling and positioning throughout

Eyoma 6 Bit below his high standards. Appears he was sick today so I'll make allowances
Jackson 8.5 Terrific at the back.
Walsh 9 Superb. Did not put a foot wrong and that one block at 1-0 was world class. My MOM
Edun 6.5 Fine considering Graham was their most dangerous player

Bridcutt 7 Very decent performance but still gives away some soft free kicks in dangerous positions
McGrandles 8 Excellent at both ends. Been given the okay to play that little bit more forward I think and it's paying dividends
Grant 7 Excellent penalty and decent performance

Rogers 8 Two great assists. Probably his best 90 minutes so far
Johnson 7 Good performance. Their defenders couldn't handle him

Hopper 8 Hard working in both attack and defence. Deserved his goal

On the frith glass, so objectivity iffy. We didn't hit our heights, but against the physical challenge the Gills posed it was a consumate away performance, and after Tuesday's slog on a sticky dog, something else.
Palmer 8-calm, cool composed. More work than recently against an aerial bombardment, and just did his stuff.
Eyoma 8 - 2 added for context - earlier illness meant he wasn't at his best but you wouldn't know it, didn't bomb forward as usual but didn't need to. Big Man.
Jackson 8- pressured by Gills approach, unflustered by it.
Walsh 8.5 - as his CB partner, a vital block just edged him ahead.
Edun 8- classy and adventurous, given a challenge by Gills best player which with help, he contained.
Bridcutt 8 - you almost don't notice him unless he fouls, but he reads the game so well and snuffs out so much. Ace air-bomb set up the third. More loose passes than the rest of the side.
Grant 8- thriving in the midfield 3, at his best first half, fought in the middle and displayed a wonderful touch. Deserved the 2 goals he should have had.
McGrandles 8 - moved up a level since his return, does the unseen stuff and nabbed a goal again.
Johnson 8- this is one classy player, occasionally makes the wrong decision but is a real emerging talent, full of energy and improving match by match.
Rogers 8 - ditto. Focal point of the intricate move which unlocked the Gills for the first goal, superb close control leading to the third. I'll say again - has ever a more talented player appeared in an Imps shirt?
Hopper 8.5 - the ultimate team player, a huge shift up front and a share of the work in defence. He wears No 9 and wears it with distinction.

Palmer: 8 Under constant aerial bombardment from the Plan A Gills. Do they ever do anything besides welly it at Oliver/Akinde's head? Some variety may pay dividends sometimes.
Eyoma: 6 Clearly under the weather, no lung-bursting runs at all tonight.
Jackson: 7.5 Very solid against a basketball attack, gave nothing away.
Walsh: 9 Blocked everything and was the victim of some very rough treatment from Oliver and Akinde.
Edun: 7 I was worried with him playing against Graham tonight, but he handled it very well.
Bridcutt: 7 Busy performance, but picked up another yellow. Twelve games to the cut-off, can only afford another four.
Grant: 7 In and out of the game a bit, but a calm penalty.
McGrandles: 8 Had a quiet spell after he scored, but another all-energy game.
Johnson: 7 A mix of brilliant and profligate, but great to watch.
Rogers: 7.5 Involved directly in two goals. Great skill for the third goal, going to be a cracking player.
Hopper: 8 Repeatedly blocked and taken out off the ball, but jumped up and got on with the game without a word; many strikers would have retaliated.

Palmer 8- Excellent, calm performance under the air bombing. Always looks unflustered.

Eyoma 7- Given him an extra point for playing whilst unwell. Shows how much team spirit we have, when a loanee clearly cherishes his place in the team so much.

Jackson 8.5- Put his body on the line throughout, despite taking some rough treatment.Got his head to everything. Lewis who? 😉My MOTM.

Walsh- 8 Quite brilliant last-ditch block to save an almost certain goal. Part of a rock-solid Central defensive performance.

Edun 7- Any lingering doubts about his ability to play the left back role are quickly being dispelled.

Bridcutt 6.5 - Great defensive performance, but a few wayward passes.

Grant 7.5 - Quite a talent! Took a while for me to warm to his swagger, but MApp just lets him express himself and that measured backheel had me🤤. Cool penalty and it should have been two goals.

McGrandles 8- Striker's finish. Does a lot of work at both ends of the pitch. One of our best signings.

Johnson 7.5 - Slips through the gears effortlessly. Always looks dangerous, but a tendency to be a bit greedy and take the wrong option at times. Great layoff under pressure for the first.

Hopper 8 - Very intelligent player. Nice to see him poaching, as well as his shielding of the ball and his unselfish play. Now we know why the long contract.

Rogers 8- A privilege to see him playing in an Imps' shirt. Brilliant feet to set up our third. Great cross for the first . Think he'll bag a fair few of his own, before season's end.

Taking down an Evans side is such a sweet pleasure.

Palmer 8 - commanding
Eyoma 6.5 - steady
Jackson 9 - beast
Walsh 9 - beast
Edun 8 - Big test against a good winger. Test passed. Unrecognisable.
Bridcutt 7 - steady
Grant 8 - genius
McGrandles 7.5 - instrumental
Johnson 7.5 - dangerous
Rogers 8.5 - Morgan 'not doing anything' Rogers has 3 goal contributions in 4 games. Will become the most expensive former Imp.
Hopper 7.5 - poacher?

Palmer. 7. Dominant and coped well with the constant high and long hopefull punts but hardly needed to make a notable save.
Eyoma. 6. Needed his robust strength defensively and illness would explain his lack of forward forays which we have got accustomed to of late.
Jackson. 8. Game for a tough hard CH, suited him perfectly.
Walsh. 8.5. Ditto Jackson. As a pair they were very good and stood up to the ariel onslaught
Edun 7. Up against Graham their best player, controlled him pretty well and got forward well as usual.
Bridcutt 8. Shielded defence and won a lot of 2nd balls that dropped in our box.
McGrandles. 7.5. Vital first goal.Box to box strong and tidy.
Grant 8. Touches of great class to open their defence.
Johnson. 6.5. Lots of nearly moments but his speed on the break opens up the game so often and his pirouette and double pike ecstenuated a slight pull on his arm.
Hopper. 7. Won headers at both ends and linked up play well. With so many flair players around him he provides the solid base to build around.
Rogers. 7.5. Flashes of top class skill we just don’t see at League One level very often providing important contributions to 2 goals.
