So our first away defeat of the season, and to the only goal conceded in five games. Ipswich win yet another home game by a narrow scoreline, Hull manage to lose to Swindon, and the Vengeance Tour gains momentum with an easy win over toothless Shrewsbury. Tuesday's opponents and Michael Appleton's dream club Portsmouth lose at home to resurgent Charlton while Oxford sink to the bottom again. Taxi for Robinson soon? Things are hotting up in League One as the table starts to take shape after ten games.

In other news, Steve Evans loses five successive league games for the first time in his career, and Mansfield's record winless streak goes on. That could be a match made in Heaven - how about it, Penny?

Players today didn't hit their previous high standards. None were especially bad though......just didn't quite click

Palmer 7.5 My MOM by virtue of being at his previous high standards with 2 excellent close range saves and control of his area. Nothing he could do with the goal

Eyoma 6.5 A bit mixed. Started very brightly and was winning most challenges. Became a little loose with passing late on
Montsma 6 Defensively solid but tried a little too hard with some of his passing and gave it away more than others, but that was because he was trying to speed up his distribution
Jackson 6 Solid enough on his return
Edun 6 As with TJ a mixed performance and struggled keeping up with Taylor

Grant 6 Couldn't influence the game as he has been doing
Jones 6 Hard working as usual but not much influence
McGrandles 6 Also covered a lot of ground but couldn't get going

Anderson 6 Bags of effort with little reward. Couple of long shots showed some frustration today
Johnson 6.5 A couple of very good runs which caused them problems. Unfortunately he didn't get enough of the ball

Hopper 6.5 Held the ball up really well first half and showed his dedication to the job with that left back cover just before his substitution.

Archibald 6.5 Massive chance with his first touch and should have done better but caused them some concerns with great crosses. Close to a start now
Scully 6 Busy without really making his mark

Palmer 7 Kept us in the game a couple of times
Eyoma 6 Needs a few games in training where he plays as a striker to get his radar working. A top player
Montsma 6 Gave the ball away a couple of times, but his formula has worked inmost of the matches
Jackson 6 Steady
Edun 5.5 Gave possession away a few times, will have to tighten up on this
Grant 6 Did ok, tried to get things going
McGrandles 6.5 Thought he gave a good shift yesterday
Jones 6 Passed the ball about
Anderson 6.5 Harry blew hot and cold today
Johnson 6.5 Didn't get him the ball enough in dangerous positions, but credit Doncaster for defensive organisation
Hopper 6 Huffed and Puffed

Scully 6 Didn't do too much wrong
Archibald 6 Should have done better with first touch on goal

On another day we would have got a draw out of this match. It's difficult not to be disappointed but that feeling was only fleeting. Bring on Pompey!!

Tough game which could have gone either way, Doncaster set up well to counter our game and all will have learned from the experience.
Palmer-7 - one sharp save, steady otherwise, could do little about the goal
Eyoma - 6 - not at his best, defensively and getting forward
Montsma - 6 - caught in possession too often and wayward passing, solid defending otherwise against a 'robust' No 9
Jackson - 6 - bit of rustiness after lay-off and that seemed to affect the whole defensive set-up.
Edun - 7 - some loose passing and moments being stretched by the pacy Taylor which he generally handled with intelligence, those negatives outweighed by good work getting forward, some great passes and robust ball retention.
Grant - 6.5 - better in second half playing further forward, but Bridcutt's experience was missed.
McGrandles - 7 - the oil running through the team's engine, keeps it all ticking over without necessarily being prominent in doing so.
Jones - 6.5 - hard working as always, striving to be effective but not his best game
Anderson - 6.5 - current formation helps the improvement in his game, always dangerous but has got through a lot of hard work in recent weeks.
Johnson - 6.5 - absent from much of the game, but always dangerous when involved.
Hopper - 7 - more isolated than some games, worked hard against 2 tough, tall centre backs. Interesting and effective cameo as left back!

Scully - 6 - one moment of real involvement nearly set up scoring chance showing strength and determination while outnumbered in the box.
Archibald - 6 - could have been hero with first touch, brought a different challenge to Donny with the change of formation.
