Smith 6.5: Second best of a poor bunch, made one or two excellent saves and handling was pretty good.
Anderson 6: Started well, bombing upfield on a few occasions, but after the break he seemed to be constantly under the cosh. Right-back experiment over with, please.
Bostwick 7: Best player on the evening despite playing for only 45 minutes. Made several timely blocks/interceptions/clearances in the City box and we looked so lightweight at the back (understandably) after he went off.
Bolger 6: Captain for the evening did okay, nothing special.
Melbourne 4: Thought he looked all over the shop in the first half and seemed to struggle to understand what his role was. A little better second half, but not much.
O'Connor 5: Struggled to stamp his authority on the game.
Connolly 5: Same as O'Connor.
Chapman 4: Started on the left-wing, then moved to the right and finished somewhere in the middle. Did very little in every position.
Andrade 5: The few times he got the ball, he tried to made things happen, but not one of his best nights and won't be forcing his way back into the starting XI on this evidence.
Grant 5: Some lovely bits of skill, but no penetration and hardly involved.
Akinde 5: Great piece of work and finish for the goal and won the penalty, but then rolled the spot-kick straight at the keeper. Won a few free-kicks, but for a big man seems to get 'bundled over' very easily. He ruffled their defenders on a couple of occasions, but very frustrating in that he doesn't seem to want to get too involved much and won't bust a gut to get in the box. Was hoping he and Walker would work well together after the latter's introduction. They didn't.
Toffolo 5: Struggled out of position. He's no centre-half.
Payne 4: Worst game so far? Lost possession in dangerous places more than once. Went through the motions.
Walker 4: Barely got into the game.
