imagine you create a product and you need to make sales.

Two deals of note are potential paths. One has a distribution centre in your town centre selling to 100 stores and like your product as it is.
The other has 100 stores but spread over the country and you have to deliver yourself. Also some of these particular stores around the country would like a slightly different deal to the other individual stores.

Which makes sense?
