private dentists - def n/g

My root canal years ago private was £500. Filling or extractions approx £120 each approx.

always been shown xrays of issues before work or options. Never been ripped off so far.

i used Franklin rd dentists most recently, 1st class for me.

£1100 is a lot. £262 on the NHS (if you can get one).

I wonder what the profit margins are here.

Wow, I used to have an NHS dentist until about 7 years ago, and never paid less that £200 for just an NHS quality crown. I don't think I ever had root canal treatment on the NHS but I was in the chair for well over an hour in total this time, so only an additional £62 seems generous if it was available on the NHS.

When it came to it, I seem to also remember the NHS dentist saying what she was willing and able to do under NHS treatment, and what types of crown were available (like it or lump it) but then quoted what additional treatment was only available on a private basis, including better crowns that matched the enamel.

Going for my crown "fitting" tomorrow (NHS). Cost is £282 for a gold one or £600 for white. Its right near the back so gold for me I think 🤔
