Police boss dies after Man United loss

The Officer in Charge Vumba police post in Luweero has died, four days after he fainted while watching the Manchester United versus Manchester City game, last Sunday.

Assistant Inspector of Police Willy Seruwagi died at Lacor hospital in Luweero, where he was taken after collapsing.

Seruwagi, who was watching from DJ Ronnie’s hall in Kasana, is said to have been adversely affected after Manchester City hammered his favourite Manchester United by four goals to one at Etihad arena.

Seruwagi had also bet Shs 50,000 that Manchester United would win the game, against a friend, Robert Sentamu, who is an Arsenal fan. Lacor’s Dr Charles Lwanga said Seruwagi had succumbed to hypertension.

Fellow officers were hurt by Seruwagi’s loss, adding that he had been a committed member of the police force.
