Other Clubs News Discussion Thread 2

Wait Celtic lost? To second / third rate European side? That doesn’t sound like them at all... I thought they were the invincible side.. the biggest club in all the land

Spurs have got to play their first couple of home games at Wembley. Season ticket holders to be refunded 2/19 of the value of their tickets in compensation. It's because of health and safety or global warming or Brexit or something.
Anyway, I thought that clubs couldn't play in more than one home ground during a season according to F.A. laws.
That law doesn't appear to apply in this case.
Well here's an article showing that 11 of the 20 PL clubs could have made profits in 2016-17 by playing in empty stadiums, no fans, no ticket revenue ..... the game has gone tits up

Bristol Rovers accidentally airs Babestation at half-time in clubhouse to group of fans. I imagine it was good to see some entertainment at The Memorial Ground for a change.

If they can make that much profit without fans then they can afford to cut their ticket prices.

Don't want the wrong "sort" of people coming to games though do they. They'd rather have tourists spending plenty of money in the ground and club shop than some teenager from just down the road who might buy nothing but a ticket.

Some joker switched the stadium screens to babestation at half time in the Bristol Rovers match according to the Sun. Now there has been a few games Ive seen where I wished they had done that lol.

Now it appears that a La Liga game will be in the USA this season - what a load of utter bollocks, a disgrace, a complete kick in the teeth to football supporters. The muppets in charge will do the same for the PL - its another nail in footballs coffin

Trying to expand the following of your league to a new market of 325m people is a nail in football's coffin?

Absolutely it is - to move the venue of an official club domestic league game to foreign soil is a disgrace - the world can watch it on TV or whatever method they choose, if they like what they see, then get on a plane and see it for themselves. Dont take the pee and mess with the real fans who have been supporting their club all their lives

The Spanish FA are a complete joke so I'm not shocked they're the 1st to try this nonsense. Look at the kick off times of pa liga games and it's obvious that they have no regard for any fans bar the big 3, especially those that might travel away.

What's that got to do with anything - it's utterly scandalous to try and move any clubs home league game to another country. Tebas is an absolute disgrace for making this deal with Relevant. They hide behind wanting to promote the sport in the states ..... it's the same company who run the International Champions Cup - well that's enough of a promotion. The Spanish Footballers Association has criticised the deal - it's just utter utter bollocks.

Not saying I agree but premier league football is now following a process which isn't about the paying public on the day at the ground.
Games in china and the US are inevitable at some point as the money making machine rapes its way forward . Progress ?

Can understand Yanks point of view because of the NFL and money talking. But if it grabs hold of the premier it is the death nell for the fans
you end up moving the league to whoever pays the most. There was talk about top 4 of each league breaking away in the past and forming an international league would not want to be in the top 4 if that was to happen would destroy those clubs eventually.

Anything but progress - it's so far away from progress. We already know that many clubs could operate without the comparatively small change gate money, but don't mess with the history, the foundations that the clubs are built on. If clubs want to play along with this madness, then kick them out of the domestic leagues, make them baseless global trotters contributing to global warming, make them homeless.

If the Sky commentators are to believed, Barry Bannon is right up there with Lionel Messi as the best player in the history of football.

Wow.

Stadium of light is spookily empty - poor feckers - could have been uso_O
Blocks and blocks of empty plastic faded red seats , very sad to see for Sunderland , and the final coup de grace from sky was Chris Waddle sat smirking in the studio. WTF was the thinking there
