NOW WHAT?

I am glad someone else isnt a fan of Trips, I think he is good back up but he is nowhere near good enough for the style of play we have, plus he is quite defensively weak.

I do laugh at the criticism serge gets, whilst trips has made as many mistakes - just not as obvious.

For Left back I would rather Shaw and if we can do a swap deal with United even better as the money will be saved.

Aurier is far more of a liability than Trippier is. Red card waiting to happen every game. At least Tripps can cross a ball. I would sell both as neither are what we need.

We should promote KWP and sign an actual attacking wing back who has the athleticism and speed. One that isn't dumb would be nice.

Shaw is injured every ten minutes. No thanks.

I’ve watched every single interview of Poch this whole year and in the last month, he has shown that he’s been reading and is very aware of what the fans are saying.. especially the growing contingent that thinks he is underperforming or not getting it done in the big games. (well at least Jesus tells him,, he is the one that keeps Poch informed).. Poch thinks that the position he is put in is unfair and lacks any context. which is why he has been trying to remind you little ungrateful t**ts and the media where you were only 3 years ago and our history for the past 20+ years..

Poch understands we will never be MAncity/ManU/ Chelsea but he thinks we need to push the boat a little further than we are currently will too. SO prepare yourself for a BIG directional change this summer.. either we bring in higher caliber players and pay current and incoming players market value or close or Poch is gone.. YES, This summer.

we had a great first 11 last year (2016/17) and basically, half of them weren’t available for the (2017/18) season. including 3 of 4 our back line.. We never truly had sufficient backups and the ones we do have are not of the same quality .. our only saving grace this year was Dembele being healthier than any previous season & Son stepping up to provide goals although he still blows hot and cold. Also, Ericksen was able to be more consistent this year. changes are a coming...

Context. Some get, alot don't - or refuse to contemplate it and what it means.

You clearly do. Great post.:clap:

I'd say that if there is an element of truth in the Dries Mertens rumours, and any real intent to bring back Bale, then it could spell a change in styles with us going for more pacy wingers as opposed to playing with 3 number 10s like we have been. This would also make a lot more sense of the Moura signing.

That could lead to the departure of one of Alli or Eriksen which would pay for the New signings and our bigger contracts being offered, and also pave the way for Roses departure as pacy wingers wouldn't require pacy wingbacks behind them, more traditional full backs like Tripps and Davies.

Dembele and Toby will most likely also be shifted, so realistically we need to look at another centre back (Maguire? Mawson?) and a strong midfield metronome. Obviously we also need a second striker who can actually stand in for Kane - wouldn't be upset with a cheeky bid for Vardy

It is clear why we lost the FA semi-finals and the same goes for the Juventus 2nd leg... Man United have been shit ever since that game and any team we put out before the Juventus game would have beaten them.

the main reason amongst other for the FA lost : Son and Dembele offered nothing and were actually liabilities and we couldn't change them because what we needed was not available on our bench.. we needed goals after Kane's complete lost of form after his injury and Poch persisted with Son cause lamella is not known for goals and Moura provides bursts of crisp play but nothing comes out of it.. his little runs are disjointed from the team... he will be a great addition for next year.

also, Dembele was incredibly poor but we were trailing and there was no creative option to change that game. we all know that Dier & Wanyama does not work..... Davis was also poor for me in that game. So here lies our problem and where we need improving... we have a good base so we only need to keep our plays and add 3/4 versatile players.. 2 of them need to be first team players

this might seem outrageous and unattainable but we need a proven goal scorer

my vote is Antony Martial.. why because he fills in two massive needs and offers everything Saha does and more.. pace on the wings to create and Goals in the starting 11 and as Kane's replacement. expensive but a two for one.

Sergej Milinković-Savić - he is like a Dembele and Dele wrapped in one, he is strong on the ball, can pass it forward like Dembele and score goals like Dele. he is much sort after and might be unrealistic but this is the ilk of players we need now to be better than what we have. if not him then Jean Michel Suri - very creative in the middle always looking for the forward pass.

Ryan Sessegnon - we are our best when we're playing in the style of in form rose on the left... Sess plays the same way.. Davis is an alternative more defensive steady style.. great to have but when Rose is out we need similar and someone that will replace him really soon. as of right now, he will be a luxury buy but I don't see how that money spent on him now will go to waste. In two-three years whatever price it is might be the cost of an average LB/left sided player...

pay the current players including Toby. DONE.

Wanyama(2017) / Savic
Erickson -- Dele -- Martial

Mauricio Pochettino took the Tottenham reins in May 2014
Chelsea are considering moving for Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino if Antonio Conte leaves the club this summer, according to Sky sources.

Conte is expected to depart Stamford Bridge after Saturday's FA Cup final against Manchester United.

Chelsea have failed to qualify for next season's Champions League and the Italian looks set to leave just 12 months after winning the Premier League title in his first season in English football.

The London club have been linked with high-profile replacements such as Luis Enrique and Maurizio Sarri, and Pochettino is another leading candidate if Conte left.

Former Chelsea manager Roberto Di Matteo hopes Antonio Conte stays at Stamford Bridge to give the club some stability.

Under Pochettino, Spurs have qualified for the Champions League for three seasons in a row while operating on a smaller budget than rivals such as Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal.

The Argentine has three years remaining on his Spurs contract and is planning on having talks with club chairman Daniel Levy about increasing his transfer budget this summer.

Big talk Madrid will sack ZZ and go for Poch after the CL final.

Lets throw a theory out there. Poch has been all about the project for the last 4 seasons. Then all of a sudden he has an interview really laying down the law of what we need to do. The complete opposite of what he has been saying.

He has been tapped. It's a cert.

Anything is possible, but there is certainly some truth that he's frustrated with both media stories and the fans lack of support for what he's achieved.

I can't understand where the club are going to find the money to buy these 'marquee siginings' and pay the 'going rate' to them & current players. Sure, there will be extra income from the new stadium, but we also have to pay for it. Even with massively increased income of recent times, Spurs would have to at least double or triple players currrent wages - Isn't Sanchez at Utd on 450-500k a week or something crazy! Plus the rest of the EPL top 6 & Europe's elite will also be looking at the same targets as us. And if Pochettino and a few of our best players were to leave, (on top of the predicted Alderweireld & Rose departures), how would that motivate other top players to join us.

Our first and most important target if we get the money in would be to get key players on long term contracts. Kane, Toby, Eriksen, Ali, Verts, Dier are the backbone of this team and should be paid accordingly.

There is enough quality out there which wont cost us a fortune.

And there was me looking forward to nice quiet close season , probably getting bored,.... watching our hooligans getting stuffed by the home nation hooligans ,.....nothing exciting going on ..
Ha ha , it's all got thrown up in the air and it's a right old conundrum .
What the 'kin ell is going on . Bring back the Spursy days :eek!:we knew where we stood then . Harry hanging out the window ,wheeler dealing .
Looking forward to the meeting next week with poch and Daniel. Would love to be a proverbial fly on the wall. Lets just hope Poch wins the day . Stays with us and takes us to the next level on his terms . Can't wait . COYS ....COMP

14 goals and 17 assists this season and he’s not had a good season ?

The issue with Alli/Christian/Kane/Son and Lamela to some aspect is they are completely over played as there are no other options

The issue with Eriksen and Ali is that they are not properly utilised.

Both are brilliant footballers, but placing both as AM's in a 4-2-3-1 or even in the front 3 in a 3-4-3 doesn't do them justice. They don't have the speed nor the ability to beat their marker to shine in those positions.

I always felt that one has to play in CM and the other as the 10 when playing in a 4-2-3-1 so they don't step on each others toes, and allowing for more pace on the flanks.

The biggest miss IMO is not trying a 4-3-3 with Ali/Eriksen in CM, like Madrid's Kroos/Modric. We have Son on one flank, and were one signing away from getting this right, but we never gave it a chance with the likes of GKN, and this system is not one that I see Poch trying.

They shine because they are talented, but it's about time we make sure that our formation plays to their strengths.

Unfortunately Poch's rigid system means that he always wants a DM and a defensive minded CM, which will always leave us with the above problem.

Cameron Carter Vickers and Hary Winks have now both signed new contracts so Pochettino is obviously behind CCV so thats a pointer to who could leave maybe and Harry Winks could figure in the close future at least.
