GOAL! Nottingham Forest 0-1 Man City (Gvardiol, 32)

BIG GOAL!
And a very simple one. Would Williams have been on the post had he been on the pitch?
City have the corner and it is swung into the near post by Gvardiol, ahead of Murillo, to power his header past Sels.
Gibbs-White let him go and Murillo was static.
Forest were down to 10 players...
FPL assist: Kevin De Bruyne.

Nottingham Forest 0-1 Man City

HALF TIME! Manchester City get to the interval in the ascendancy, thanks to Josko Gvardiol's header from Kevin De Bruyne's corner.
It's a really good contest. Forest might easily have retorted with Chris Wood having the most notable of their chances that got away.
Ake and Rodri were having an impassioned exchange as they came off the pitch.

GOAL! Nottingham Forest 0-2 Man City (Haaland, 71)

HAALAND BACK ON THE GOAL TRAIN!
It's the old one-two as De Bruyne is found centrally and he lays it into the path of Erling Haaland, who sizes up Murillo and pushes it onto his right foot to fire across Sels.
Game over. Noel Gallagher is flying in the away end.

Player of the match - Kevin De Bruyne

Sky Sports' Alan Smith:
"I've seen him play better, quite a bit better, but he's been at the heart of this win, assisting both goals. He has the ability to affect games, as we've yet again today."

Nottingham Forest 0-2 Man City

FT: It is all over at the City round and the champions have ground out a 2-0 win that moves them to within just a point of Arsenal thanks to goals in each half from Gvardioli and Haaland, moments after coming on as a sub.

'City got the job done'

Sky Sports' Micah Richards:
"City made sure they got the job done. It was about moments. There are going to be times when you're going for the Premier League when you're not at your best, but it's about getting over the line at difficult times, and that is exactly what City have done."

FT: Nottingham Forest 0-2 Man City

Pep Guardiola oversaw his 300th Premier League game in charge of Manchester City, making him only the fifth manager to take charge of that many with a single club in the competition, after Arsene Wenger (828 with Arsenal), Sir Alex Ferguson (810 with Manchester United), David Moyes (427 with Everton), and Jurgen Klopp (331 with Liverpool).

'Haaland's all-round play excellent'

FT: Nottingham Forest 0-2 Man City

Micah Richards
Former Manchester City defender on Sky Sports

Erling Haaland made a difference. His all-round play was excellent. He took his goal really well.

There will be times when you're not at your best but at the key moments they get the job done and that is exactly what Manchester City did.

FT: Nottingham Forest 0-2 Man City

Manchester City's Erling Haaland, speaking to Sky Sportrs: "Its an important win, it does not matter how we do it, and it is good to be back.

"We knew it was going to be a fight, and the pitch was not the easiest to play on but we cannot complain, it is about winning and that is exactly what we did."

'Four more finals - let's do it'

FT: Nottingham Forest 0-2 Man City

Manchester City's Josko Gvardiol, speaking to Sky Sports: "It was really tough especially as the pitch was really dry. It’s a more than important three points.

'We suffered in moments'

FT: Nottingham Forest 0-2 Man City

Manchester City boss Pep Guardioa, speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "It was more than hard. Such a difficult game but we knew that. The game we played in Brighton feels like a few hours ago so it is always difficult.

"Coming here Liverpool won in the 99th minute, Arsenal won 2-1, so it is always difficult to come here. A difficult game, we suffered a lot but yeah at the end we take it."

On the best things about the performance: "We defended the box really good. Especially with with Manu [Akanji], Nathan [Ake] and Josko [Gvardiol]. Then in the last half an hour when Bernardo [Silva] comes inside with Kova [Kovacic] we controlled the game more. We are a team that survives with the ball. It is a lot of games and we knew today would be difficult for many reasons. But we take the win and move forward.

On playing second behind rivals in the title race: "The pressure is how you play. if you play good and control the game then people say you don't feel the pressure, if you play bad people say you feel the pressure.

"In certain moments we suffered. We were lucky today the pitch was so dry, because the chances they missed that was the reason why. We were lucky today that the pitch was in these conditions."
