The San Francisco newsreader never realised there was sumting wong with her news report even as she named the pilot of the doomed Asiana plane as Captain “Sum Ting Wong”.
Speaking seriously, and with a perfectly straight face, the KTVU announcer Tori Campbell went on to name the rest of the crashed aircraft’s crew as “Wi Tu Low”, “Ho Lee Fuk” and “Bang Ding Ow” before it dawned on horrified colleagues at the television station that the names were not only made up but racist.
