NEW THREAD FOR ALL THINGS TAKEOVER

I don't want to carry this on as yet another running argument, but I did say that there were benefits for all parties in the SC, LN and Council trying to get a deal. But you imply that their only motive is self gain, which I don't belive is true.
If this is all you see in this then it really says a lot about you and your outlook on life. An original Child of the Thatcher era, all for yourself and bollocks to anyone else and you can't even comprehend that there may be another way.

You are fully entitled to your beliefs, my outlook on life affords me a very decent life so i'll keep it going that way.

Oh I definitely remember LN saying that as well Moonay, I thought you implied Caroline did also.

No Arthur. It was LMB who posted that both Lisa and Caroline said that the EFL wouldn't have passed the bid anyway.

To be honest, I forget what Caroline had to say about the Spanish bid, but I recollect she spoke well of the EFL.

Let’s just hope they sort it out soon or these lot are sure to start flogging of what is left. Be very lucky if this new owner thing is sorted out before. The end of jan. if Cook gets the Sheffield job. Richardson will be out the door as well.

Cook getting that job could be very good news for Latics in terms of loan signings. It could be a very big win win situation. There is probably only one person in the world who doesn't want Cook to get the Sheffield Wednesday job and that is Josh Windass.

The only worry there would be that the Admins seemed happy enough to have gone ahead with the reduced Spanish bid. The (only?) issue to cause it to falter was that the Spaniards couldn't accept the 15 point reduction it incurred.

You are right Admin would certainly accept the lower bid and see us docked points. But hopefully now the bidding is opened up someone will be willing to pay the full price and avoid the deduction. If one bidder is willing to do that it probably forces any other bidders to match it.

She didn’t say or sounded disappointed it had failed, that much I do recall.

If that's true, why did the EFL piss fart around for months making their mind up ?
It only came to light after garrido was ousted and moreno submitted a revised bid, the supporters club picked up on something when they first got this bid, and approached LN with their concerned a letter was then sent to the EFL and administrators to highlight those concerns, that only happened in the lead up to Christmas.

So we owe the SC more than they are getting credit for.

They are legally bound to get the "best deal" for the shareholders, if there were other bids submitted/confirmed/talked about they'd be hard pressed to justify accepting the reduced bid. I think as long as they had funds to keep us going and as a result the EFL wont revoke our membership they'd have to reject the bid. We have to remember we are a business with creditors first and a football club second, having the EFL membership is the only thing that makes us, possibly, worth more than the sum of our assets.

With the bids going in we are probably already at the bottom of what can be paid for the club vs just asset stripping and parting out.

Yes, but some seem to still believe begbies version of events even though they are proven liars.

You'd think with them being so inconsistent throughout the process in what they've said they'll have to be documenting/justifying the actions taken pretty carefully. They could become the first administrator to have a legal case brought against and won at this rate, if they aren't being careful on the backend.

That kind of feels like it's aimed my way LMB, so let me clarify a few things.

After a very (very) quick skip through the PWU podcast, I couldn't find where either Lisa or Caroline said that the EFL rejected the Spanish bid.

Neither can I find where they say that the EFL would have rejected the bid, regardless of them pulling out because of the points (as stated by the Admins).

Maybe the EFL told Lisa or Caroline this, but I can't find where either have said this publicly.

If the Admins were lying when they said Moreno pulled out cos he wouldn't take the points deduction, then I can't see where there's public information available to prove that's the case.......... though of course, it may well be true.

It's as simple as that. If you point to the time in the podcast where either of the above statements are wrong, I'll be more than happy to apologise. Initially, I was going off memory. To try and make sure I wasn't mistaken, I skipped through the whole thing. There's a chunk where Lisa talks about the bid & the EFL around 40 minutes where she actually talks about a possible approval ............ but I didn't hear anything about rejection.

Something interesting to add is they are not the first bid to want to pay less than the admins want and at the same time avoid a points deduction. The only way I could see that happening is the admins pay some of the debts (unlikely) or the debt is paid over time, but at a higher settlement (35%).

Hopefully in the upcoming feb creditors update we may find out exactly or at least some what, why that is (we probably wont find out anything about it :( ).

Hopefully, there's a bid in that's paying the full asking price ........ and hopefully, it's from someone with no skeletons in the closet !

You are too touchy, I was generalising didn't really even think of you, however if you want to talk about exactly where, let's play a little I will if you will and see where that takes us.

Hampton settles down in his chair and awaits the start of a five set match 😁

If it wasn't aimed at me, then I apologise, but as I was the one who'd been arguing against your point, it seemed logical to think it was.

As I say, I've already "skim-listened" to it, but as I kept on flicking forward when the host or JJ was talking (or the subject clearly wasn't the EFL when Caroline was talking - eg the crowdfunding money) I may have missed it.

Happy to be corrected though.

:LOL::clap:
Nah off to bed for me now ......... but happy to pick it up in the morning.

However, if you're settled down for a while, have a listen to that 90 minutes of "definitely not breaking any NDA chat" again, and see if you can find the bit to which LMB's referring.
;)
