This is really hard to decide on, so I shall see how the scoring evolves!
Vicario - 7. Should have been stronger for their goal. Thankful for save at the end.
Pedro Porro - 6.5 Energetic but asking and shooting wayward.
Romero - 7 Generally composed and controlled. Better with VDV alongside
Van de Ven - 7 Brings greater confidence to us all. Apart from slip he was immaculate
Udogie - 7 VDV brings the best out of him. Did well in all aspects. So energetic!
Bentancur - 7.5 A shame about 1 or 2 bad passes that put us in trouble. Otherwise he had a really good game. He’s getting there I think. (MOM)
Bissouma - 7 Again an improvement. More available, good forward pressing and better passing.
Johnson - 7 Did well for the goal. Should shoot more often. Had good chance but passed. Need better up front for his great crosses.
Maddison - 7. Played too deep for me so lost his effectiveness. His dribble in the penalty box along the byline had them panicking. More of that please.
Werner - 6 Apart from his cross for the goal did little else I’m afraid
Son - 5.5 Just not good enough from our captain. Largely poor control and doesn’t affect games like this at all.
Kulusevski - 6 Normal effort and strength. Did nothing much wrong.
Sarr - 6.5. Brought more energy but affected nothing.

The team -8 The sum of the parts was actually better than the individual performances. For me this was our best overall performance as a team for ages. Play like this and we will get 4th!

To be fair, we kept Hammers 3 forwards very quiet. Our corner defensive setup once again let us down. That is on Ange.

I like this double pivot and it will get better the more they play together. Lost possession in danger areas a couple of times, but mostly bossed it. Saying that, Ward-Prowse and Soucek are just weak and can be easily managed.

Sonny needs to have a long hard look at his game. He's a 6 foot coward in any physical exchange and it is costing us. His leadership has been poor on the pitch as well. Our best forward was Johnson. Shame we can't get him on the ball more.

I like the strength of the bench and for once they didn't do the business. They kept us in the ascendency though.
Ange / The Team 6 - a draw away is actually par but was hoping for more. For once, the strength of the bench didn't bale Ange out on his starting tactics. Like Poch, he struggles against bus parkers. Keeping the full-backs inside won't help that either.
My MOTM was between Biss and BJ. I went for Biss for his quiet effectiveness over the 90 mins.

Awful …..Example , he thought the assault by Paquata , into the back of Maddison , on the edge of their area , not playing the ball , was fair ,, then allowed them to play on the break , then thought the push on VDV by Antonio in our area was a fair challenge , and only an awful shot and a good save from Vic stopped them from scoring .
And thought there was nothing wrong .
