But even then it ws close between him and Romero.

Sarr - 6.5 ran well, but gave the ball away twice in dangerous positions when he has simpler options
Maddison - 9 another assist and played the lynchpin well, but needs help.
Bissouma - 5 - stupid, dumb bit of play acting, but even before that didn't seem to enjoy the physical intent of the opposition today.
Kulusevski - 8 Worked and worked, did what he could as the lone striker

Richarlison - 4.5 His misses and lack of skill and composure hurt us and gave them great encouragment.
Hojbjerg - 6 another who indulged in play acting that could have cost us, apart from that he was 'hoj' and that helped us get over the line
Skipp - 6 run about a bit
Emerson Royal - 7 did his job well when he came on
Davies - 7 same as Royal, helped us see the game out
Veliz - 5, he came on and almost gave them a problem

Maddison - 8 - Not one of his best games...but got the assist when we needed it. Happy that AP gave him some rest.
Bissouma - 3 - Dude....seriously WTF.
Kulusevski - 8.5 - My MoM. Worked extremely hard all day...and our success only seemed to come from his side. Paired will with Madds for the goal.
Son - 6 - Off game for Sonny....like many should have scored early...but was largely anonymous all match.
Richarlison - 4 - Rich's standard Meh performance....just gives us nothing. Need upgrading ASAP.
Hojbjerg - 5 - Meh...can't wait for Bents!!
Skipp - 5.5 - Worked hard...but just not the guy...he would be better suited moving on.
Emerson Royal - 6.5 - Of all the subs he had the best impact. Worked hard and we didn't really skip a beat when he was on the ball.
Davies - I guess he played for a bit...
Veliz - I want to see this kid given the start over Rich if BJ isn't able to go. I like his energy and attitude. Works his damn socks of!!!
Ange - 8.5 - Well the team didn't put this match out of sight after the first 20 min...and Biss went braindead and was sent off....Good test for the team...AP will learn from this guaranteed!!
The team - 6.5 - Well this game could have been VERY different if we would have scored on at least 2 of the early sitters. We need to improve our finishing....STILL. Biss let the team down today and needs to learn from this. But as I said during the match....things won't go right all the time and you have to win ugly...today was EXACTLY that!!

VdV was my MotM. He would have been a strong contender without the goal but that was the icing on the cake. Great skill to change his body shape to take it on his left foot and guide it home.

Ange's system of play heavily depends on counter pressing and winning possession back quickly, that takes alot of hard work and covering of a lot of hard yards, Kulu has been our leading runner in both sprints and ground covered since the season started - that makes space and time for the creatives to carry the ball and create, so not just yesterday, his role so far this season has been essential in our successes.

MotM award should not be about sentiment, but who was our best player over 90+ minutes; that was VdV. Kulusevski works hard, but comes short on the class aspects.

As I said earlier I went for VdV MOM, very close was Romero, but Kulu was say 3rd, it was very close, paper thickness ere, I could quite easily have given it to him, esp for his quick thinking/contribution on the corner to play it to Maddi, thus our winner.

It's not about sentiment. He was key in killing off the game with 10 men as well as the first 15 minutes when we were dominant.
