Is it just me or are games coming around really quick at the moment. very little breathing time between them.

Anyhoo will be setting off early to get there after popping into see the old man. Another one of those if we play it right we'll win.
No doubt it'll be 1-1

Oxford fans are supremely confident of an away win, apparently predicated on the sacking of Whingeing Karl Robinson. I wonder how MK approaches this game?

Please, if we get our noses in front, can we show some real determination to ram home the advantage!
Football is full of cliches, but the 2-0 being a dangerous score is utter bollocks. It sure as hell is safer than 1-0, as we are proving time and again. Let's just try to give someone a hiding FFS!

For those who gamble, guess they are on the draw today and will be covering a bet on the 0-0 and 1-1. Only 17 draws already this season; we are top of that league by a country mile.

Montsma returns which should add some supporter confidence; so please, please create chances, score some goals and give us 3 points. And, please don’t defend deeper and deeper in the last 20 minutes if we have a lead. Ffs City, make our day it’s not unreasonable for the fans to want to witness a home win.

Oxford always brings back memories of the game in the snow blizzard back in the 80s. Sat in the saint andrews stand in a great atmosphere. Oxford were sweeping through the leagues at the time with that corrupt labour bloke at the helm , was it ghislaine maxwells father?

Yes, Robert Maxwell the former Labour MP. Had an amazing early life escaping the Nazis, fighting back, getting the Military Medal/Cross, he then bought Pergammon Press and the Mirror Newspaper Group. And Oxford United, then it all went to pot. Oxford has not been blessed with decent owners.

That was probably the coldest I have ever been at football- 17 years old and thinking I was immortal, dressed in a denim jacket and jeans. The wind was vicious and the snow virtually horizontal. 14th Jan 1984...and we were 2-0 up at half time as well (only to draw 2-2). Saxby and Thomas were the Imps scorers. I was in the Clanford. Can still feel that cold!

An interesting comment by MK in Hully's press conference summary:

"MK certainly does not shut up shop when the side goes ahead but is very clear with the players that they are not to chase the game either and reassures them that with patience a second goal may come."

That explains ultimately why we draw so many games. That second goal that MK believes 'may' come actually seldom does, and 'may' is also a bit unconvincing. Only once in the last 14 games have Lincoln scored more than one goal (Accrington away), which suggests the philosophy is a bit flawed.

Michael Appleton the clear favourite for the Oxford job on Yellowsforum:
Appleton 39%
Leam Richardson 15%
AN Other 15%
Des Buckingham 11%
Neil Critchley 11%
Chris Wilder 6%
Grant McCann 5%

It would have been interesting to see Mapp appointed ahead of today's game, given what happened when he was appointed Lincoln manager.

Danny Cowley is believed to have been interviewed by Oxford this week. The number of votes for him on Yellowsforum? 0.

Just seen a replay on The Big Match Revisited of the Huddersfield v Lincoln game from January 1980 which Huddersfield won 3-2; Mick Harford and Tony Cunningham with our goals - would love to have those two up front now.

If what their budget is supposed to be i.e. Top 6 is true, then Oxford are by far the underachievers of the seasons. Ridiculous how they are where they are, really.

It was also stated later that he was in the pay of the Czech government as well. , as a matter of interest he was labour M.P. for Buckingham and visited my father in law who was staunch labour , and shook everyone's hand . Something I have kept to myself ever since . You wont tell anyone will you ?

Who's Des Buckingham? He sounds like an 80s game show host.
