I wasn’t going to use the words must win game for this, but I feel it kind of was. And I don’t mean for the league position in relation to the season, but if we’d lost again I think it could have derailed the season completely so was really important to get back on track.

Own up, who else looked at the line up before ko and thought some there have questions to answer?

All answered in the affirmative, great team performance and without 3 of our best players this season it was right back to bang on message, less possession but scintillating fast moves and 3 top class goals, like those early season home wins.

Good to see Archibald on the pitch for a few minutes and do ok, one pass aside!

Sounds tight for Grant to be back this season if he doesn't need an operation. Definitely out for the season if he does. seeing a specialist Monday/Tuesday.

Great performance, players that looked a bit lightweight recently got stuck in a bit more. Conditions recently of pitches and very windy weather made it difficult and i think contributed to some poorer performances, better conditions means we can play better football. Could be a very exciting finish to the season.

Best game in a lincoln shirt by Edun, he is not a full back, but he is a midfielder.
Also best I have seen from bramall and Poole.

Credit to Appleton for shuffling the pack a bit, and finding a blend that worked. Much more emphasis on simple pass and move too. Crewe seem to suit out style perfectly. No niggle, no aerial threat, no pace, no bite in the tackle.

Enjoyable. Great to see the flat track bullies are back!

First game for a while that we looked in control of the game and tackled! Much better passing. In those circumstances being wasteful and giving the ball away up the pitch does not matter so much. Edun, Brammell and McGrandles stood out, Jones and Montsma looked like they were before Christmas. Lets hope we get more bodies back for the run in.

Thought much better balanced today with Jones and mcgrandles just ahead of edun in midfield all having good games and Johnson looking more comfortable out wide. On another day it could have been more with several great opportunities not quite making it into the onion bag

Good solid win which will help lift the confidence of the players after recent performances. Hull v Peterborough on Tuesday is an opportunity for us to catch up if we can get the result against an improving Ipswich.

So ,I was unpicking the recent reverse in fortunes . and in an epiphany moment it came to me oh yes , it came to me ! My lucky scarf!. Redundant since lockdown this beauty is one of one of the many Tootal scarfs I possess . Yes, we are the Mods . Its been there through the NL promotion through to League status and into League 1. Its not been to The Emirates or Wembley.Thats another story . No trouble. I sported my special lucky Tootal beauty today and boom! Say no more , say no more . So come on Imps dig out your lucky pants ,or whatever works and lets get over the line ! UTI

There were but I also had a sneaky feeling that the side had a much more balanced look which I hoped would pull everybody up a notch. I'm convinced that helped greatly, but as you say those players had to step up or we would struggle again.

Tayo played the pivot well which in turn gave Bramall more cover than Rogers allowing both of those to play their more natural game.

Tayo also allowed Jones to concentrate on playing himself back into a bit of form and McGrandles to do what he does best, unhindered by having to worry about sitting too deep.

With the midfielders playing as a unit, Johnson pushed forward and wide, added to the fresh running and different challenges that Morton brought, it all clicked today.

I'm still going to call it that Edun playing as well as he did was the key to all the other pieces of the jigsaw being able to fall into place.

No one has mentioned it yet, but I think having Johnson on the wing instead of midfield really helped us out. Scully played great for awhile but he is more of a spurt off the bench sometimes though. I like Morgan and Brennan on the wings. Makes us more balanced.
