Match Thread: Charlton Athletic v Lincoln City

Not a classic game (understatement) but you can’t fault our grit and determination.
A hug for Chris Cohen from Jones.

Full time, I think it’s a decent point given the injuries we have and how widely reported it is that Charlton have a strong team on paper. Following their manager change, they were always going to lift their game and although they are in a battle they are unlikely to get relegated.

Yet despite all this, it frustrating how often we can’t win against teams that are in dire form. Oh well, 6 unbeaten!

FT. Credit Charlton for their pressure in the second half. Jones knew exactly how to use the players he had and put physical pressure on us. We really lacked the presence and holding play of Hamilton and McGrandles second half, but the lads battled well and we deserved the point even when we weren’t at our best. Onward and upward 👏👏

Probably our worst performance in six games but at least it wasn't a defeat. Are there four worse teams than Charlton?

Fair result as we handed the initiative to Charlton in that second half. Jensen had little chance to save the shot from Ladapo as he was at full stretch to a powerfully hit shot that was always travelling across him into the far corner. Jensen bravely placed himself into positions where he punched the ball clear on several occasions. It was clear, particularly in the second half that we missed the players capable of winning possession in the midfield. I would like to see more of Moylan going forward as he has good feet.
An away point is ok.

Well, like 90% of our games this season it felt like a poor game between two poor teams. Reeco is on fire at the moment though.

Well done Charlton, 15 without a win but came back and massively outplayed us in the second half. Easy to see which team wanted the points more.
Our inability to play a simple pass, and work the ball forward, yikes. Keeper and back three in particular holding us back in terms of distribution.

Reeco was the exception again, surely you try to work the ball towards your danger man at every opportunity, rather than smashing the old Kennedy ball tactic towards sørensen.

Disappointing.

Extremely poor quality game. They were poor and we weren't much better. Both teams constantly gave the ball away. No fluency for us in possession. Didn't even realise Hackett was playing until he scored but it was a good goal.

Defended OK I suppose but second half we were a non enterty as an attacking unit.
Corners were again terrible. Hung on in the end against an absolute bang average team.

No complaints regarding effort an application from everyone but the quality just wasn't there tonight.

Jensen man of the match for us, commanded his area and pulled off a great save from Edun at the death.

Instantly forgetful display but didn't get beat as we would of done not that long ago. Another point on the board and we go again at home to Exeter on Saturday.

Decent point Imps and a bit of back to the walls
Good to see the players sticking up for each when needed
The lads weren’t great with the ball second half but without it they were brilliant again
Exeter had a bad result tonight so could be a good time to play them
The run continues
