Match Thread: Cambridge United v Lincoln City

Plymouth beat Derby 2-3 after being 2-0 down. Difficult to envisage City doing that in any game. And Whittaker scored.

FT Cambridge 2 City 0 A better second half by all accounts.

Just one win in seven - and that was down to a Scully goal and assist, with some desperate hanging on after being two goals up. Just saying.
It was always going to be a slow start for us, but has to be a concern that we haven’t resolved the problems across the back. Hopefully, with players coming back from injury, we’ll find some form. Nothing to inspire any optimism from today’s meek display.

Just seen the goals we conceded.

Disgusting.

Next 3 games are massive - that will take us to 10 league games, and that’s when we’ll know what we are this season.

Not good enough. If we had started with that back four, we certainly wouldn't have lost.

When we went 2-0 up last week, you could see Fleetwood still had belief they would get something out of the game.

But when we go 2-0 down? The world falls out their arse.

Part and parcel of having a young team, unfortunately.

Useful in that hopefully the penny will drop with the management that when we have fit players TJ O’Conner and Oakley-Booth should be on the bench

Good night all take care

Our problem is at home. We are drawing there and need to win. Away points are great but continually giving away points at home isn’t sustainable

FT. Nothing second half. Both teams cancelled each other out, although Cambridge didn’t really have to do anything special to secure the win - they had done enough in the first half. Get the impression the new Lincoln signings need to settle in and develop their team play - too many wasted passes today. That should hopefully sort itself out with a couple of weeks training. We’ll see.

Frustrating scrappy game, started ok with a couple of shots from Bish. Better second half, but no real attacking threat, never looked like scoring. Cambridge were happy enough to defend.. The end.
