Manchester BBC United v Spurs Women - 21st April away at Leigh Sports Village ko 1200

wtf was Spencer thinking ...... coming for a ball and stopping and not going through with it ... typical

thought Vinberg was better than that ... that was an Ayanne sort of miss

and why are our strikers playing as defenders ???? Naz aint a striker

Good ol Spence - great strike - we are back in this half COYSW

well would u belive it Naz .. what a goal (maybe she is a STRIKER after all)

thats my prediction out of the window then .. what do I know

Come on ladies lets win this half

bar the giveaway goal from Spencer ... it has been a really good display from our team. Probably the best 35 mins of play I have seen all season.

Shame for Martha being injured .. lets hope we can do more damage in the 2nd .. at least we dont look scared of them nor the occasion (being away etc)

Possibly the best half of football I’ve seen us play. I said 1-2. Not much point in watching the second half if I already know the score! ;)

I wish Naz would beef up and be more dominant in her play against defenders .. she is too easily pushed off the ball. With Ayanne on now Im not so sure we can hold out ... we have gone back to being scared again since the MU subs came on

we threw them points away big time and yet again for the umpteeth time this season Spencer was at fault yet again for not catching the ball or punching the ball away (we need Vitikova back Bob !!!!) ... why does he always set up to defend a 1 goal lead with these fringe players they just cant do it.
Ayanne coming on was just a waste of space and a waste of a sub (why not Shuang or even the speed of Charli ?) ... we need better skillful players than the likes of the usual Spencer Graham Summanen Naz Ayanne and sorry but Neville as well.... very poor 2nd half performance.
Nilden yet again was the best player on the pitch - almost every game she has played since she signed for us. Amazing

Good confidence builder for the final. But we will need to play in BOTH halves to win the cup. Still, great result.
Yes and No ... we had them in our pocket and we should be driving for a 3rd goal and we didnt bother. Wrong decision by whomever !

their 2nd was a foul on Beth and should have been disallowed but yet again the Ref never sees it !!! and why VAR is needed at this level now .. too much at stake

They will not be the same MU when the final comes around thats a given

At least Naz keeps trying to prove you wrong!
yep but then she does 3 things poor that bring my senses back
I still want her moved on and take Ayanne with her .. what a waste of space she is
and why yet again he decides not to play Charli who is much better than Neville

stats
37% possession most of that in the last 30mins of the first half I guess
6 shots and only 2 on target - very poor
1 corner which led to the goal to their 6 - we just invite pressure all the time with poor passes and clearances ... Spencer was so poor today.
and then 10 fouls to their 7

attendance 4700 not bad to what we usually get (1.5k) and proves my point that fans will come to see better players and why we need better players

now we do have another target if we do not fair well in the final ... bettering 32 points when in 2021/22 when we got 5th with +1GD

we have 26 points now so that means we need 7 more to surpass that and we need a +2GD from somewhere - we will for sure not get 5th again - not this season unless Liverpool and/or Man U has a mare in their run in

but we have to stop leaking easy Spencer goals - time for a change Bob - it aint working.

Manchester United Women 2-2 Tottenham Hotspur Women: Maya le Tissier rescues late point for hosts

Maya le Tissier scores
Maya Le Tissier's goal came in the week she signed a four-year contract extension with Manchester United
Maya le Tissier scrambled in a stoppage-time equaliser to deny Tottenham their first ever win over Manchester United in an enthralling dress rehearsal for next month's FA Cup final.
Le Tissier, who signed a new contract this week, headed in from a packed goalmouth after Rachel Williams had hit the crossbar.
Two goals in three minutes from Bethany England and Jessica Naz looked to have secured a momentous victory for Spurs after Melvine Malard had put United ahead at Leigh Sports Village.
Centre-back Le Tissier's intervention briefly kept United's slim hopes of Champions League qualification alive - until Arsenal wrapped up a top-three finish by beating Leicester 3-0 at the Emirates.
Malard headed in a deep free-kick from Gemma Evans to give United the lead before England was credited with the equaliser, although it was debatable whether she actually got a decisive touch to a shot across goal from Drew Spence.
There was no doubt over the potency of Naz's strike though, as she cut inside a defender and lashed past Mary Earps.
Tottenham manager Robert Vilahamn saw his side soak up concerted United pressure after the break, but goalkeeper Rebecca Spencer was largely untroubled until the final seconds.
And with England goalkeeper Earps up for a corner, Le Tissier stole in to steal a point.

Wembley classic on the cards?

Only Chelsea, Manchester City and Arsenal have won major honours in the English game since Liverpool won the WSL in 2014.
United or Tottenham will end that run with a maiden FA Cup win on 12 May and if the showpiece occasion lives up to this game, it will be one to remember.
Spurs will again be without the influential on-loan Grace Clinton at Wembley - as they were in Leigh - with the on-loan United playmaker ineligible.
But January signing Matilda Vinberg stepped up in her place, playing a big part in both goals, and could shine again on the big stage.

you can see in this clip that Beth was pushed away from defending the goal - definately should have been ruled out
