Managerial excuse ??

Hampshiregills

Vital Youth Team
'' Gillingham has always been a very tough place to go '' says Graham Alexander. That's the hackneyed excuse trolled out by many a manager nearly every week .................... but usually only AFTER a game they were expected to win. COYG !!

Well on matchday the M2 is usually busy and for teams who also have to go around the M25 and maybe the M11 then I can understand if people think we are a tough place to go to....

Let's hope that it's a f*cking tough place to go this Saturday afternoon and that we play them off the park.

sounds like the kind of thing JED used to say when he knew we were going to get pummeled on an away trip. Let's hope it has the same end result! :17:

Some real classics in here. Particularly like Kenny Dalglish's http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/picturegalleries/11194702/The-19-worst-excuses-in-football.html?image=0

i wonder what the reaction on here would have been if he had said" a game we should win " or something along those lines. would we have the same sort of vitriol big sam, steve evans , and others have had thrown at them. along with the pins in the dolls treatment.

Apparently 'It wasn't a level playing field'!!!

Don't forget to read the Scunthorpe fans comments at the end too!

there are some real gems in the comments section. looks like Scunthorpe's got their own case of Jexit fever brewing. Wonder if it'll take 'em until next January to sort it out...

I think their fans are being very generous and realistic. I'd be fuming if I were one of them. They totally outclassed us.

Had roles been reversed I'm sure we/Ade would have "whinged" about the pen that they should have got in the first half.
