Loan Watch

Big gap between the leagues

Definitely, as we found out (and DC did too) after winning the title.

Ali unfortunately looked nervous and soft in the tackle for us. Hopefully has a good second half of the season and comes back to us to give it another crack

I’d feel lost playing out of position most of the time.
But you saw the difference today between McGrandles when he came on and Smith’s appearances for us.

McGrandles is a big upgrade, which is why Smith was allowed to leave on loan.

Not writing off Smith as he may come back a better player, but he never impressed even in the few opportunities he had to play in his favoured position.

Smith needed a run of games. Pre season he looked ready to take on the league and was flying from watching him. Then we signed Hamilton who kept him out the team and he hasn’t had that run.

Was that against...
Stockport, King's Lynn, Boston United, Harrogate, Crewe, Grimsby or our in our 3-0 defeat against Rotherham?
Fair point - should consider that Stockport are currently clear at the top of League 2 and Crewe are in the play off places.

The distance between the leagues is evidently dropping given currently of the teams promoted last season, only Carlisle are in the relegation zone. The other 3 are above us in the table, with Stevenage currently in the play off places.
