Have just read that we lost 2-1! Adding to that is the irony that scorer of their first goal was Betsy Thomas, who used to play fro the Imps. Not sure why she left (ie who's decision?) but she was one of the younger players, and I always rated her when I saw her play. Maintaining League position is now presumably the objective for the Imps Women
 
Lincoln play at Tier 4 of the women's game. The attached link is helpful. You'll notice that the top two tiers are essentially well known, but from tier three lesser known clubs are increasingly involved

The top end clubs are paying increasingly large transfer fees and wages to their players. It will become similar to the men's Premier league and efl with the richest clubs at the top and the rest at the bottom. The clubs like the Imps on limited budgets are not going to be able to give much financial support to the womens side unfortunately .
