Aitor Karanka's men sit 4 places and 6 points off a play off position, and must surely be seen as one of the biggest disappointments in the Championship, especially when you consider the reinforcements they bought in over the Summer (Joao Carvalho 13m, as well as having Daryl Murphy and Lewis Grabban up front).

At least Grabbon isn't playing for them.
They do have a long range specialist in Joe Lolley though.

Forest one nil up after five. Poor all round, poor free kick, poor defending.

Forest 1 - 0, shocker by Forshaw slips trying to play a back pass and just lets in Colback....only 5 gone but we’ve looked sluggish.

Karanka teams always good at seeing out a one nil so this is a bad sign.

Forest hit post from header from corner, bad marking by klich.

We somehow manage to get Harrison through on goal and he’s brought down from behind just outside the box. Surely has to be a red but only a yellow.

Yeeesssss! Loads of possession and no end product!

Ayling all over the shop at the moment, defensively we’ve looked very fragile.

Phillips is off.....looked a bad tackle. Heavy touch and he dives in to try and recover.

Definite red card. So stupid.

Phillip's off, very bad challenge. He is NOT a central defender!

Phillips off -fully deserved- FFS!

It still should be 10 a side though, seen that Forest one again....lucky boy not to get a red.

Forshaw makes another bad pass which leads to Forest with 1 on 1 - great save BPF.

What a superb point blank save from our young keeper.

Half time can't come quick enough for me.

Jansson was lucky there...leading with his elbow.

There are to many average players who have played out of there skin this season, once they revert to type you see they are average. Great team well coached but to many average players who will make mistakes.

Forest are awful but we have a lot of players who are awful too. We play much better as a team but you have to score to winning games and we can't do it at the moment.

Good work down the left worked across through Klich who finds Clarke who slides it under the keeper.... GET IN.

Dodgy keeper for them!

Who would take a draw right now?

We’re still giving better than we get here even with 10.

Alioski !!!!!!!!! 1 - 2

Two Leeds players in position to put away Jansson's header across the goal, no Forest player there. That's what I like to see.

2-2 Damn.

Dear football coaches around the world - have defenders marking the posts at corners.

Clarke again with a fantastic effort, just fails to curl it in the top corner from 20 yards - looked in.

We're not keeping Clarke long are we ...way too good for this division.

Forest 3 - 2 corner and Murphy beats Pontus and heads in bottom corner.

I repeat, mark the f@@@king posts at corners.

FFS. 4-2.

4 2, cracking goal. Cracking second half.

Excellent goal though. Top corner and hit the underside of the bar.

Roofe through 1 on1 great save by keeper.

Is the offer of a draw still available?

Forest 5 shots on target, 4 goals...says it all really.

Norwich into their 2nd minute of their standard allotted 10 minutes of injury time.

Really thought we were going to win it once we took that 2-1 lead, things looking really good then. Stating the obvious, you can't afford to keep conceding so many goals.

FT - did the hard work with 10 men and got ourselves in front but we just couldn’t organise ourselves defensively after that and left acres of space at the back. Games defined by the non-sending off for Forest in the first half and then KPs reckless lunge. We played some lovely stuff going forwards but our plan for defending is based about starving the other team of posession rather than having great defenders so when we have to concede more of the ball due to having 10 men we will struggle.

Best team lost. We have only ourselves to blame.

Better team apart from the defensive errors...

Bielsa on whether he will try to find a defender in the transfer window: "We don't have any problem in defence. If you take out the goals that are scored on set-pieces, we are the team who concede the least."

Robinson should have been red carded end of.

I'm not slagging him off but Roofe 3 clear chances and no goals, Murphy 1 chance and 1 goal.

Absolutely f**king gutted losing that. we fought our way back level then incredibly got ourselves in front only to throw it f**king away. As someone said school boy and kamikaze stuff. Easily said in hindsight but we should have been far more professional and seen it out and closed the shop for at least for a draw. very disappointed in MB.

MB couldn't find anyone who "could be useful at that moment." He was sitting behind you muppet, his name is Halme and he's a flipping centre back! Talk about insult your players! This guys attitude will cost promotion. It matters not one jott that they're top at the moment. We can all see what's happening here, shame MB can't.

This guy's attitude is why we are top of the league, this guy's attitude is why the lame players from last season have been converted into the players we are seeing week in week out playing amazing football. Bielsa has been a revelation for our team, shame you can't see that.

This gung ho attitude and having no faith in the cb sitting on the bench has cost Leeds at least 1 point today possibly 3. Who in their right mind doesn't pack out the defence and midfield after going 2-1 up with 10 men . We would probably have scored another on the break even.

He is also the reason why points were dropped today. They got themselves right back into it (thanks to the masterstroke substitution ) but then went and commited suicide . A manager of his pedigree should not be making amateur mistakes, maybe it's the reason he's never won anything . I really do hope that he can achieve promotion with Leeds but with decisions like he's made lately I suspect that his CV will remain the same unfortunately.

I just think we scored too early. Forest couldn't time waste and park the bus once we'd gone in front and the 'injuries' miraculously stopped once we'd gone in front. We just played it into their hands. That said, all 4 were completely avoidable.

I don't think there's any need to panic and I'm sure MB is by now aware of the mistakes made today and also very pleased with the response from the players after half time. They tore Forest apart with 10 men but then uncharacteristically fell apart for one reason or another.

Once again we dominate a game playing some lovely football, unfortunately our play was also littered with so many errors against a poor Forest team. After a joyous opening second-half period which sent the Leeds end into manic celebrations, at 1-2 I still felt Forest could stretch us & the possibility of tired legs kicking in may play a huge part on the outcome, sadly my fears came to fruition.

Just to balance out my pessimistic posts. Murphy was offside for Forests 4th. Robinson would have walked 9/10 as he was last man and denied a genuine goalscoring opportunity. The team is still the best in the league imo, as a group. Just got to stop the individual errors (sick of saying that). And tbf we robbed Forest at Elland Road so yano, Karma.

Forest took there chances, had some luck, took advantage of our errors. Tbf to Forest they had a weakened team to so we have no excuse injury wise.

Absolutely dumb to try and maime a player and then apologise. That fecking Fox is a ****

Roofe isn't good enough, needs 5 chances to score 1 goal.

No complaints Forest scored some good goals.

The ref bottled it:

1) Early in the game - 14 minutes in.

2) Forest at home - big hostile crowd.

3) Karanka's job on the line, he doesn't want blamed for getting him fired.

4) He'd be ostracised by the Referee Mafia for doing Leeds a favour.

Simples.

Bielsa on whether he will try to find a defender in the transfer window: "We don't have any problem in defence. If you take out the goals that are scored on set-pieces, we are the team who concede the least."

Touch of the Steve Cotterills about this.

Some reasonably balanced comments in there which I wasn't expecting from them, but based on their performance yesterday I don't think they have a lot to be worried about.

Cheers CP (y)

Cheers CP was expecting a bit more crying into the flat caps and battering the whippet in frustration but some good entertainment!

Best team in the league? Not on that showing - I have certainly seen better and think they will be found out in the second half of the season without reinforcements.

We weren’t poor but we were definitely under-strength and most players were decent rather than good.

I know we rode our luck at times but ‘the best team in the league’ shouldn’t have had much trouble. Gutted for them! ?

Thanks CP

Oddly balanced comments.... also, saw that Kalvin Phillips apologised to team mates, fans & Gueddy for that tackle - humility isn't a quality I'd seen in Leeds!

Being fair to them, they play good football and went for it.

Whilst Robinson fouled Harrison he wasn't last man & ref went to the lino for his opinion plus, one of their comments picked up on Jannson's elbow on Cash - didn't even get booked and also mentioned our own injury problems!

Usually the only balanced thing about Leeds fans is that they have a chip on both shoulders...

Fair comments from most. Leeds will still be in the top 6 but lack of depth of squad may take its toll in second half of season. Advantage is they have points on the board. Very difficult for a team who play the all action movement style of football that Leeds play to keep that up for 90 mins with 10 men. They have scored a few late goals but I think they may concede a few late as season develops.

More teams appear to push on to get three points rather than settle for one this season. If this continues could be in for exciting finale.

The two things that stood out for me:

1) The criticism of Bisla - though it was a minority.

2) No mention of scabs.

They did start the scabs chant at one point yesterday - but at best half hearted.

Biesla has done well, but as we know, it only takes a few bad results for the critics to jump on the manager's back.

Robinson was lucky clearly wasn't getting the ball so took him out, but fox was just about close enough for the ref to bottle the red.

Roofe needs 5 chances to score, unless he uses his hands then there's only that old short arse Argentinian who is maybe a better finisher.

They are a good side but can they stay the distance, few more injuries and suspensions have they the squad to keep it going? We are down to one CB and one senior striker and we are still 7th, a little wheeling and dealing we've a good chance of top 6.

Happy New Year boys,

Go easy on me here, as I live in Toronto and can only view on TV. My thoughts from yesterday were this...

Leeds were by FAR the better team. We got out of jail here!
Jacob should never play centre back again
Pants is Pants, and needs replacing
Janko to right back. Darikwa is too shaky for me
We do need another winger and striker

Thought Jacob did ok and was better than both Fox & Darikwa, who are both liabilities! Agree play Janko at RB. TD scares the shite out of me. Why was he standing there with his arm in the air, playing them onside. After a good run of form, he has been shaky in the past few games.

Darikwa's downturn in form has coincided with Dawson's absence. Is this a coincidence? I too thought Jacob did OK. Not sure he would do so good against a strapping 6'+.

They all did it, not just Darikwa.

Jacob was woeful in that position, granted it's not his position. He lacked positional awareness, and his normally assured touches had gone, likely a bit of panic playing in an unfamiliar position.
If Fox's performance wasn't up to his usual standard, then that's likely him over compensating for Jacob.
Hopefully Figi is back this weekend, or at least for Reading.

Me too - thought Yacob did admirably at CH, against a pacy mobile Leeds attack.

Their 1st goal saw Cash gift possession in an area we should have scored, then they went straight up the field & Lolley did not track back & I still think it was a goof crisp finish by Clarke.

Second goal, Yacob challenged Jannson but Gueddy & Darikwa did not follow their men - both unmarked 4 yards out!!

Darikwa also got booked for kicking ball away - we really do need to cut these daft bookings out!

Welcome.

Leeds were better in patches, but we had to contend with injury after 5 mins & a team/tactical re-shuffle.... fair enough we were already 1-0 up, but that disruption should not be ignored.

Yacob hit post with a header too.

Was their keeper any better than Pants - who made 2-3 good saves? (Their GK was caught napping for the 1st, slow off his line - good save to deny Lolley in 1st half though)

Can't deny I'd like another winger/striker - but LB & centre half 1st please!
