That's the third time we have drawn Southampton in the League Cup since we bounced back in 1988. Went to the first two away games, but this one is an impossibility for me.

So, 18 of the last 21 League Cup draws have been away... and all five 'open' draws so far this season. Thank goodness we won our group in the Pizza, or that would have been away as well.

Southampton away. Actually, I’m happy with that. They can ship goals, and an away tie should help our counter.

A bit rubbish, an unattractive premiership side far, far away. But Bristol City was a rubbish draw at an unattractive championship side far, far, away so we go again. Was really hoping for a pre-Xmas outing to Anfield or Old Trafford and will have to rely on the vivid sound pictures of Makepeace and Hone.

Yes - previous games have been at The Dell. And before anyone asks, our only previous away win against Southampton was 10 December 1960.

The last time we won at Ipswich was 1954 so another one to tick off !!

Oh just jeff off, Barrow, Bristol and now Southampton. Count the miles. Scant reward for a side that has battled through 3 previous away treks.

Well hopefully a few more Saints fans will turn up with this being their first game for 5 weeks after this Saturday.

Could have been worse. Could have been better. Chance for the players to play in a good sized Premier League Stadium. A game we will have a chance as Wednesday took them to penalties the other night. Just don't let Ward-Prowse control the match
