Jed Wallace

He will be a Brighton player in the summer according to our rag

Hahahahaha - 2 million for a league 2 player. I bet he goes for around 200k

Jed Wallace cannot break into our squad, although according to the 'sky sports understanding' a number of topflight clubs want him.

cheers Jake, said it would be written up soon...

at least as far as a permanent transfer goes we will know the score in a couple of weeks - a loan, well who knows.

reported he has turned down stoke and brighton?

would make sense to do so for me, continue his development here and sign a new deal. do well and get his move down the line and get us some cash!

According to those infamous words 'sky sports understands' Jed Wallace is in demand!

Sky is reporting that 'a host of Premier League clubs are watching' the 18-year-old, who is enjoying a cracking loan spell with Whitehawk FC with him scoring 11 goals in as many games.

Among those that have 'sent scouts', again according to what they understand, to watch Wallace are Chelsea, Liverpool and Stoke...

Perhaps this is the case, what I would seriously question is the suggestion that he may be free to leave at the end of this month with just a 'minimal fee' required for his services?

Yep, most players are month-to-month contracts but the midfielder is on a contract other than surely!

Even if these clubs are interested in him the chances are he would not be getting into their 1st team squads just yet, but is this not another reason to suggest that perhaps he should be in, and around, ours 20-man limitation or not?

If he is still around when the New Year gets here lets just hope this chance does come as he could well become on of those 'gems' that Andy Awford has spoken about of possible helping to 'earn us millions' as well as save them...

To be a league 2 player, wouldn't he have actually had to have played at least one league 2 game?

If he's that good, surely he'd be in our 20 here. I trust the judgment of the backroom staff enough in this instance to be honest.
All the same, it would pay to get him on a permanent contract, as it would all the youngsters at the club.

He is scoring loads of goals for Whitehawk, but they are quite a distance away from being a top side, If he did move on I think whatever team he joined would have to cough up a fair amount of compensation for him, but does anybody believe all these Sky Sports stories??

keep on laughing steve, i am almost certain that your bubble will burst (again) one day...

wallace is definitely not a league two player, hopefully (altho unlikely) we can get at least another season out of him tho as he continues to prove just how good he is!

Over-rated?

No. He's the most talented player we have.

Different class to the rest.

And a nice lad as well.

He should leave Pompey. We have amateur coaching staff, crap training facilities & not going to be playing at a higher level than L2 for a couple of years at least.

I hope we get a fee for him, as he definitely has value.

what sky sports 'understand' and what actually happens often are different things.

they may well be right, but i am SURE that wallace wouldnt be walking into their squads anytime soon so would be best off staying where he is - i suspect he will be in our 20-something squad once the PST completes the takeover...

Its a worry that all the while that new contract isnt signed the fee will be 'tribunal' decided and they do not often work very favourably do they...

seems pretty clear, reading between the lines, that whittingham and awford are expecting quite a change in janaury - so the likes of wallace will almost certainly come into the squad.

I think I said "we as Pompey fans rate him far too much" rather than he was over-rated and whether you agree that is what I think .... But what does it matter you clearly want our best player to consider only himself and not the team or club (great loyalty shown there) and move on because he is at a crap club ... I really hope he doesn't listen to you Tim..

Have we sorted his contract yet Rug ...? I remember it was on the table to do but don't recall it every having been finalised... That said I do think he is a little more loyal than to jump ship mid season.. but I am of the view that we would be able to hang on to him long .. an offer from a bigger club could secure the club for a while .. even 500,000 is a huge amount to turn down ...and I think he is worth more than that !

Any back to the goal .. Wow that was special ... I agree with what everybody else has said ..

What an absolutely incredible goal Jed Wallace scored at York on Saturday. On a par with anything I have seen form anyone for a long time.
