Ipswich v Swansea Sat 11 Nov 15:00

One more match before another International break and it couldn’t be tougher. Ipswich, on the crest of a wave after promotion from League One, are taking the Championship by storm.

Second in the table with 11 wins and 2 draws from 14 games, with just 1 defeat, that was a 3-4 thriller at home against Leeds way back in August. Ex-Swan ‘run for the money’ Piroe scoring on his debut for Leeds and another ex-Swan Rodon scoring an own goal.

Leading scorer Nathan Broadhead and Conor Chapman the danger men for an Ipswich side that top the goalscoring charts on 31 goals so far this season.

One of those Ipswich draws was yesterday at Wayne Rooney’s Birmingham, two late goals by sub Marcus Harness, foiling what would have been Rooney’s first win since he took over, having lost the previous three games.

Swans will be looking to extend their last three away match wins in a row, scoring 7 goals with only one conceded in that run. A big ask at Ipswich but not impossible. We are more resilient nowadays and tougher to beat, hopefully we’ll prove that next Saturday.

Ipswich are in action again tonight (Tuesday) before they play us on Saturday.

After pulling back from 2-0 down at Birmingham, with 11 minutes to go last Saturday to draw 2-2, with a brace from Harness, one of their five substitutions, they are away to Rotherham.

It’s a re-arranged match through a postponement three hours before kick-off on Friday night 20 Oct due to flooding of the River Don, Storm Babet being the culprit, with the unfortunate Ipswich fans making the nearly 400 mile round trip to Rotherham for nothing.

Rotherham are in trouble, third from bottom of the table, with only two wins from 14 matches. A win tonight for Ipswich and they can be just one point away from top of the table Leicester. It’s live on Sky Sports if you want to suss out the opposition.

“Charlie Patino is suspended following his red card against Sunderland.
Josh Key and Mykola Kuharevich remain sidelined with knocks, while Joe Allen, Josh Ginnelly, Nathan Wood and Azeem Abdulai are longer-term absentees.”

Only one change, Fulton replaces the suspended Patino as expected.
Academy youngsters Parker and Wilson on the subs bench.

HT: 2-1
Swans outplayed after taking the lead.
Ipswich looked like scoring every time they attacked, could have been four or five.
Defence a shambles and needs sorting out half-time. Both full backs look poor and not up to Championship standard.
Surprisingly we had 61% possession, but did nothing with it.

51’ Ashby concedes the penalty
3-1 Hirst hits it straight down the middle
This could be embarrassing
