Head of Performance

Binghamimp

Vital Youth Team
Just been reading an article from Leigh Curtis who now covers Derby County that Derby are waiting to appoint/announce a New head of Performance who is currently working his notice at another club. Warne their Manager came from Rotherham so would not be surprised that it is our head of performance who came from Rotherham in the summer.

For what it’s worth, heard this rumour on Saturday. Shame, as it appeared he was starting to make a real difference.

Derby County,s infrastructure and off field activity is premier league. Warne also Having an effect on the pitch. They have gone about 14 unbeaten so would not be surprised. Watch this space

Seems Derby are on the verge of recruiting Oxfords long time Director of Football, Mark Thomas also. If Burberry goes that, plus the loss of Mike Garrity, will be a major blow.

Should this transpire that's 3 members of backroom staff who have left mid-season - recruitment, coaching and conditioning. Not ideal at all.

A sign of good recruitment in the first place that people want to take our staff, or a sign of an unhappy working environment where people want to leave? Either way, as mentioned, it can’t be ideal for MK.

It definitely appears that we could lose Burbeary. Testament to the staff we employ are highly regarded, but a bombshell mid-season.

"He's got a six-month thing on his contract but I think we will get him out before then."

Among the advice about spotting an e-mail scam is to carefully check spelling and grammar. Your use of "six month thing " does not suggest an ITK response, but your conclusion may well be correct

Not sure whether this will turn out to be true or not, but I like to think that LCFC has now become a good place to further your career whether you're a player or coach.

Suspect the former if you look at where most of our staff go i.e. upwards - not just coaching but the media side as well.

Just seems like a risk of getting in good staff tbh, and also couldn't have known Warne would pitch up at Derby.

Shame though, as this seemed like an area we needed to make improvement. Hopefully we can find a good person to bring in instead.

Warne Was still at Rotherham When he left them in the summer so why leave Warne to then go back to him?

I don't think he was head of performance at Rotherham so it was a step up in job role.

Yeah, there seemed to be slightly mixed titles but a lot of places call him "Performance and Medicine Manager" or such like at Rotherham (and that's the title on his LinkedIn, from a quick google!) compared to Head of Performance here. Warne said it was no different to selling your outstanding player in the transfer window, so can only think that he increased his salary.

If this would be another chance to do that alongside a manager he has worked with successfully, it makes some sense if it comes to pass sadly.
