You missed Ike Orji who is on loan at Chatham Town and contributing massively to our promotion campaign from the South East division of the Isthmian League (step 4, level 8).

Since he was loaned back to us he has only missed a couple of games, having been largely ever present this season before Gills signed him. We sit top of the league with 4 games left. If we win them and two Kent Senior Cup ties we will do the league and cup double.

Ideally we would have him on loan again next season. He is a real prospect having broken into our side aged 16 and having been a regular ever since apart from a couple of injuries/illnesses (when he may have really been on trial at other clubs including Gills). He's just coming up to his 20th birthday and is a real prospect.

Just noticed on Facebook that the youth side won 4-2 v Bournemouth at the weekend. That's a blooming good win against a team able to pay out a lot more for facilities and wages .These lads must have something worth backing. Brad and Shannon really did do his homework me thinks.

Great to see the kids going out for the next stage of their development. Just the way it should be, no point having them around just for the occasional appearance on the bench if they aren't ready to actually play, so getting to play proper minutes in front of paying punters is ideal and lets hope they all do well.

Have you seen them play Joe. One or two of them have a decent change of making it. I do however think it this scenario a large chunk of these boys will end up playing a tht level they go out on loan to.

Agreed but not sure where this leaves our development team we were looking to introduce???

Most of these non-league sides are part-time so they tend to still train with the first team/B team during the day and then train with the loan side in the evenings. Some of the B Team lined up for the Under 18s against Brentford on Saturday.
