Orwell chucked it all in to join the Republicans in the Spanish Civil War. Is there any difference between what he did and those ex-service types who fling themselves (self funded) to joining Pershmerga et al?
Open question - obviously he was involved at little effect for political reasons, but should that mean those who fight against IS for religious motivation should be stopped?
My personal opinion is no.
