Forest Green Rovers' wooden stadium plan 'not sustainable'

Nothing to see, move along - the planning officers are recommending approval. Its de riguer to get objections for any planning application, it is if they are of any consequence that count. Reading that article its willy waving from a NIMBY Parish Council.

Contary to popular belief engineered timber frame buildings are not unusual, these days.

As always EB 100% correct on this, though Stroud have a track record of members ( that's councillors, though other interpretations could apply) who refuse applications and then get stuffed at appeal, sort of a south west version of Cheshire East up here; it will be approved but may take the scenic route.

99% of planning approval refusals are approved on appeal. It is about time elected members are personally held responsible for wasting public funds when refusing PP when officers are recommending approval.

:slap: Just thought it is quite amusing, and ironic, that a club supposedly with an ethos of sustainability has a planning permission refused because it is not sustainable. ?

No doubt the £7 parking charge (if correct) is to encourage supporters to arrive via alternative means. Cycling, walking, soap box, land yacht etc.
Fair enough.

Seriously though, the design looks superb and i hope it comes to pass. Will look forward to going there.

Me also in a 3rd round FA cup tie with us in the Championship and them a plucky NLS side.

Sorry - the Parish Council objected - to be more precise ?

The Parish Council in question are not the planning authority that belongs to Unitary Authority. Their objection carries the same weight as any member of Joe Public commenting. The crucial part is the planning officers are recommending approval, which means it will get approval most likely with conditions, even if it has to goes to appeal.

Whot! No incentive to have free parking for electric vehicles especially if powered by 'Vincetricity'?
Or even horse & carts!
