Sad to report that one man made a complete tw@t of himself at an otherwise run of the mill FOTY awards dinner. After Reginald D. Hunter completed his act, we had the embarrassment of Clarke Carlisle, doing his best straight man act, dying on his a**e, as he pompously, humourlessly and wrongly laid into Mr. Hunter, by suggesting that a comedian should not do his act, as this was a moment for quiet reflection, on how far we have come to prevent free speech, even in comedy, and how it was an outrage, and totally inappropriate, especially as it was the 40th award ceremony, to not laugh or find anything funny, that could upset the footballing community, which is highly sensitive to such matters. Mr. Carlisle went on at great length.................to an empty room, while the audience went off to congratulate Mr. D. Hunter on a very funny set.
