First Test NZ v Eng

England 58 - NZ lead by 30 at dinner
Williamson 59*, Latham 26*
England's sixth lowest Test total
Boult 6-32, Southee 4-25; five ducks
NZ won toss; two-Test series
Inaugural day-night Test in NZ

That was embarrassing. To effectively throw away the test in the first session on day 1. If it wasn't for Somerset's Craig Overton it would have been lowest ever Test score. :wall:

England 58: Overton 33*; Boult 6-32, Southee 4-25
New Zealand 175-3: Williamson 91*
New Zealand lead by 117 runs

oh dear . NZ might as well declare now :pointy: :pointy: :pointy: :pointy: :pointy: ( not that i'm gloating at all )

I did think about taking out a weeks subscription on NOW TV to watch the match. Good job I didn't - obviously a 24 hour pass would have done it.

Good news this morning is that it’s been raining and match halted. NZ are 229-4 so a lead of 171 with 6 wickets remaining.

More good news is that rain showers forecasted all evening in Auckland :yehaa:

England cricket supporters glad its raining...............now where have i heard that before
. Nothing changes :pointy: :pointy: :pointy: :pointy: :pointy: :pointy:

Yes it was a good day for England with only 1 hour and 40 mins play before rain stopped things.

First Test, Eden Park, Auckland (day two of five)
England 58: Overton 33*; Boult 6-32, Southee 4-25
New Zealand 229-4: Williamson 102; Anderson 3-53
New Zealand lead by 171 runs

Used to love watching Cricket, but not so bothered about it any more!

same here Jules , not the same as it used to be . changing with the times with the times i suppose. Money involved yet again . No "characters" in the games any more .

I must admit i enjoyed playing it , did quite well , even though i say it myself lol

still each to their own i suppose .

Whether one is good or not Its the taking part that matters , winning is just a bonus... Jules

I always used to get a phone call at the last minute asking me to play and I would always say yes!

Fantastic from England. Deliberate collapse of batting to lure NZ into a complete sense of false superiority. If only it hadn’t rained all day today we’d have them on the ropes by now. Showers forecasted first thing tomorrow. Then it’ll dry out so we can put them to the sword.

First Test, Eden Park, Auckland (day three of five)
England 58: Overton 33*; Boult 6-32, Southee 4-25
New Zealand 233-4: Williamson 102, Nicholls 52*; Anderson 3-53
New Zealand lead by 175 runs
