Pompey will be ball no.33 in the draw for the FA cup 1st round taking place on Sunday.

The FA cup has been pretty good for us in recent times but once again, as we did last season, we come into this at the first hurdle.

Last season it was not taken at all seriously, in fact it was all but confirmed before we even played Notts County that winning that game it was not on the agenda...

Therefore it was little surprise that we bowed out at Fratton Park that afternoon.

Hopefully this season, given how important a 'plum tie' in the 3rd round against a premier league side could be, we will give it a good go!

To be fair I would think that <b><font color='#0E4FB0'>Guy Whittingham</font></b> will be wanting this as he can appreciate the importance of this.

Who our 1st round opponents will be (a final qualifying round replay aside by our would be opponents) will be known on Sunday afternoon when the draw is made.

Ball no.33 is the one that we need to be waiting for.

I'd love us to get Hartley Wintney at Fratton Park if they get past Daventry. What a local Hampshire Derby that would be! What a fantastic story, and what a irony that would be! We would help a club out financially!! Odd!
 
Would love us to get Chatham at Fratton .. afterall they were our first ever opponents at Fratton Park ...

Would also fancy Aldershot so we can see how good Adam Webster is against Big Pat (assuming they let him play
 
Surely we have not allowed Webster to play for shots in the FA cup?

Have to confess I have no idea who we could play but just hope we csn make it through to round 2 first and hen round 3.
 
Reckon that if we draw a non league team it would be picked up as a TV game. Big chance for a giant killing?
 
The other down side would be it would decimate the attendance, although the TV money I assume would make up for it. Kills the atmosphere though...
 
Then again we have just as much chance of drawing a div 1 side ... say Wolves .. and could also be Televised (1939 and all that) and how the mighty have fallen :6: :6: :6: :6: :6: :6: :6:
